Was staying at Desert Gardens Uluru so this trip is a long 2 hours by coach in both directions before getting to the canyon, interrupted on the way out only by breakfast at a rip-off joint Kings Creek Station and on the return to see salt lakes and an aromatic dunny. The canyon itself is very scenic but is not as unusual a feature as Uluru or Kata Tjuta. There are similar canyons across the globe. It is also extremely hot so you need to have a good think before embarking on the upper route climb. The guides are however very good and keep a close safe eye on their charges. Overall, on reflection I'd say not really worth the effort involved. If you're staying close by, fine give it a go.
