We waited almost an hour for our food Which we said nothing about because we didn't want to cause a fuss and were just so hungry!
The young waiter (possibly new) was great he was being bossed around and doing the work of 5 staff....
The eccentric Italian waiter was rude, dirty and lazy, he wore a scarf and black leather style gloves and track suit pants, ... Really don't think that is acceptable for health and safety!! his shirt and waistcoat were dirty looking which left us feeling very uneasy considering he carries the bottles of beer to the table by the top of the bottles over the mouthpiece.
He was so rude to us, so lazy, barked orders at the young waiter and never lifted a plate! He shouted at the young waiter in front of us (for no valid reason) not very professional and left us feeling awkward.
The food was good and a good price but nothing exceptional and the awful service from the Italian waiter ruined our experience. We then waited 20min for our bill because he forgot to get it for us and we got no apology.
The toilets are right beside the kitchen, tiny and no towel or hand dryer and no soap!?!
Hygiene standards very low overall

All in all, fine food, long wait, left feeling we could have eaten somewhere much faster and got to enjoy more of the beautiful beach sitting in the sun!

During a recent visit to Sydney we stayed in Bondi on the Beachfront & enjoyed walking past & checking the different restaurants available. Il Puntino jumped out as a friendly , authentically Italian eatery. We were seated outside on the sidewalk[a must during summer] & immediately offered complimentary garlic bread which came with a devilish chilli/olive oil dip & crushed garlic, also in oil.DELICIOUS!!! Main course was a veal funghi for me & saltimboca for my wife. Both were VERY generous servings with either vegs or chips & salad. Both meals actually had 2 good size veal steaks in the serving.2 days later we ate there again, this time sharing a pizza monte carlo & again the complimentary bread & dips. The staff are more than friendly & helpful, the beer was frosty cold so enjoy this one. The only downside was the bathrooms which could do with a tidy up,but considering the age of the building in which the restaurant is, this is not a problem for seasoned travellers who would have experienced far worse. Reasonable pricing to boot.

It was completely by accident that i stumbled upon this restaurant but im glad i did! i had lasagne, chips and garlic bread for $15 which is great value and tasty too. the only problem i had was the kind of old guy that stands outside and hounds you until you agree to eat there. slightly off putting when you were just trying to have a look at the menu for reference and hes collering you to sit down. other then that, was great.
