Friendly and smiley employees and they are very helpful. Rooms are comfortable. Little kitchen which you can make your own food and TV with good channels and most important very good internet connection. Everything you need with average price.

I found this place by accident whle searching for accomodation in Melbourne. What I needed was a place to accmodate 5 persons with parking bays, a place close to stores and restaurants, come with a simple kitchen and a place I can call home. Parkville Place fulfilled all these criterias. Although the room was a bit small but it didn't matter to me because I am paid a very cheap rate for it. After all, we only need a place to stay after touring Melbourne. I would like t o recommend this place to those who travel light and without children. One more thing, this small apartment has a lift, so disabled people who require wheelchair can move easily in this apartment.

The famous Lygon Street is just about 200 metres away and you can literally get almost everything there.

Room Tip: Most windows at this apartment are double glass. Minimal noise enter the room except those from Harl...

We stayed at Parkville Place Apartments for 5 nights in May. It is very good value for money and well situated in a happening part of Melbourne, plenty of cafes, bars restaurants nearby. The nearest tram stop is a few hundred metres away and the train maybe 100m further.

Staff were helpful, reception and housekeeping were friendly and knew the answers to all our questions. This is good value in a very expensive city. It isn't luxury but has good showers, comfortable beds, was clean and safe and has free parking. (We had no issue with noise - have read a fee other reviews). If you are on a budget go for it, you could do a lot worse.

I stayed in 2 different rooms during my stay at the Apartment. 1st 2 nights at the right side corner (room 1) (2 bedrooms apartment) and another 2 night on the left side corner (room 18). Brunswick road is a major road for this area and you can hear the car zooming throughout the night. Room 1 is slightly better with the double glazed window. However, the bedroom "living room" is not double glazed and you still can hear the cars noise. Room 18 is horrendous.

We have specifically requested for a room that is not so noisy and complained about room 1 for the 1st 2 nights and requested for other rooms after our return from great ocean road. We are assigned room 16 (my parents took this room) and 18. However, we are surprised that the noise are even louder. We cannot change the room as we went in on a Sunday night. They should consider double glazed ALL their windows to minimise these noises, In addition, the soundproofing between rooms are poor and you can hear the sound from the room next door.

The water heater is not strong enough. Cannot bathe for too long, otherwise, there may not be hot water till it get heated up again.

Room is cold during the night and there is no electrical blanket. You can consider using the aircon as heater if you can tolerate the noise from the old single unit aircon.

We interact with 2 person during our stay at the apartment. The younger man has excellent services and responded to our questions well. The older man responses are "colder" and gives a feeling that you are not that welcome.

Room Tip: Choose the room further away from the main road

Thank you for your review. We are in the process of double glazing the building but in our defence we are city based and you are always going to get a bit of traffic noise in a city. The hot water system we use holds enough water for 20 minute showers and reheats within 10 mins. Apologies if you do not feel this sufficient time but Australia is a dry country and we are used to short showers here which may not be the case in your country.

Stayed here recently on a 5 day trip to Melbourne. Found this accommodation to be very good value for what you are paying. Not 5 star but clean, well located and definitely worth it if you are looking for budget accommodation. Our room was a studio with cooking facilities, stove microwave, fridge etc and all the usual facilities you would expect of a motel. Reception and housekeeping staff were all friendly and helpful. Felt safe in the building as it has security access to the building before you can get to your room. Have read some of the other reviews which complain about the noise but we found it to be very quite and were certainly not bothered by any street noise.

Overall a pleasant experience and would recommend to others looking for accommodation close to the city centre.

My son and I recently spent eight days at Parkville Place Apartments whilst he moved house and found it suited us perfectly. We had a studio room with a queen bed and a single bed. The room was fresh and clean, as was the bathroom, which had shower, vanity unit and toilet. We found having cupboards and drawers in the bathroom very handy and there was enough rack space ahooks to to hang our towels to dry in the bathroom.

The double wardrobe provided plenty of space for our clothes and we made good use of the iron and ironing board. The kitchen area had all we required - stove top with 4 elements, microwave, kettle and toaster. The cupboards contained crockery, glassware and cutlery for three people and we made good use of the frying pan and pots provided. Tea, coffee and biscuits were replenished daily, and there was shelf space to put food above the bench/sink area. The fridge and microwave were in a cupboard, which wasn't a big problem, but we did find it best to leave the cupboard door ajar most of the time as there was no ventilation for the fridge and the cupboard became quite warm. Maybe removal of the door would ensure the fridge worked well.

The room had an air conditioner, although it was quite noisey at times so ear plugs helped when it came to sleeping. We later realised this was because the window above it rattled so we opened the window a fraction and it fixed the problem. It was nice to have windows that opened too so we could ventilate the room after cooking. The room was serviced daily but not cleaned daily - this was done every 7 days, however, there was a dustpan and brush and we managed to keep the room clean and tidy.

There were two tram routes into the city, both within about 10 minutes walking distance and Barkly Mall was also about 15 mins walk away. The mall had two supermarkets so it made buying food easy. Sydney Rd with the Brunswick shops, cafes, restaurants etc. was within walking distance.

The accommodation was well-priced, however, there was an extra charge to use the internet (USB) which could be used on an hourly, daily or weekly basis. We didn't use the laundry but no doubt it would be great for longer stays. The after-hours arrangements for entering and exiting the apartments worked very well.

All in all we found it to be perfect for our requirements and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Melbourne who didn't need to be right in the CBD and who planned to stay more than a couple of nights. We didn't have a car but there is parking on-site for vehicles. The staff were very friendly and helpful and if there had been a problem with the room I'm sure they would have sorted it out quickly.

Room Tip: Some rooms on the east side of the building have balconies and would get early morning sun, which wo...
