We ate at two different locations of this restaurant - one in San Isidro (evening with another couple and their baby) and the other at Pilar Km50 (afternoon for a large family birthday party). Both offered comparable experiences - pretty darn good for a reasonable price. Both were busy, bustling places. We were seated and served quickly by pleasant wait staff. In the evening, we arrived at 8p when the restaurant opened ... a bit early for Argentines ... as the evening wore on the place was packed and the waitstaff a bit run off their feet.

We were impressed by the BBQ and HUGE cuts of meat being cooked. Not able to speak Spanish, I wasn't able to ask about the cuts but selected what I was familiar with - beef ribs and sirloin (I think). My husband, originally from Argentina, had a much wider variety of what was available including the chicken, beef, sausage, blood pudding sausage, chinchoulines (small intestine). He liked everything but felt the chinchoulines were a bit undercooked. We all particularly liked what I think was the sirloin. I found some of the cuts to be a bit tough for my taste but maybe I'm just used to North American beef. One thing I will say, however, is that it was significantly more flavourful than what I'm used to at home. Absolutely no need for BBQ sauces or additional seasonings!

Of course, you go to this restaurant for the meat but there's also a buffet bar with lots of salads, cold meats, potatoes, etc. We enjoyed our desserts, as well. Our family particularly liked the volcano cake. Carlos had the bread pudding both visits ... again, different from what we're used to ... more like flan ... but yummy. I had a typical Argentine dessert the first night ... sweet potato and cheese. I really liked the complementary tastes and textures.

We also had the red house wine with dinner ... included in the price ... it was good.

Would I go again? Yes. For the price, it was exceptional value.

Do I wish we had one in Canada? Yes.
