It's on the way and not far from the parking lot, so it's easy to visit and you should of you have the time. But don't expect anything extraordinary, just a small waterfall which happens to be the largest one in Germany.

There are different areas to park to view the falls. We originally were at the top, but decided to go back to the main entrance where we parked along the road. The park seemed to be crowded when we arrived, but the trails did not seem to be overcrowded at all. The trail from the main entrance brings you to an observation point where you can appreciate the hight of the falls. We enjoyed walking around looking at flowers and the surrounding countryside.

Not very crowded, you can bathe in the falls, nice places to rest and a nice hike up to the falls. If you are not up to the hike up - you can actually drive to the top and walk a short walk down.

Great fun!

The waterfalls near Triberg are absolutely gorgeous! Did you know these are one of the highest waterfalls in Germany? It is surrounded by lush vegetation, walkways and bridges that zigzag up/down the mountain, and many beautiful spots to take photos. If you are staying in the Black Forest, you should definitely find time to fit in the waterfalls. There are a few spots to park - either at the bottom of the falls, in the town of Triberg in which you will have to walk up to see the falls. You can also drive up the road to a small lot where you can park and then walk about a quarter mile right to the falls themselves at about the same height and level so you will not need to walk up or down steep stairs and walkways. This is a pay parking lot and there is a small fee to enter in to see the falls. There are several walkways up and down the mountain that also have bridges that cross back and forth. The bridges are perfect for beautiful photographs. Be prepared for a climb if you are starting at the bottom! There are a few trails that wander off the main trail including an area that has a ropes course that looked like a lot of fun but was closed by the time we arrived. We got there at the end of the day and wished we had more time. Overall, I'd say this is about a two hour stop if you take your time and get in a leisurely walk. Lots of wonderful nature and critters along the way. We spotted many squirrels and some very large slugs (see photos)!! The kids loved this hike and I highly recommend it. Would love to return.
