“Perfect Holiday”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

My boyfriend and I booked this as our first holiday in July. We're 19 and 21. When we arrived, the grounds looked stunning. All staff were friendly and helpful. There was a bit of a wait for our room, but this was due to the amount of guest who were checking in at the same time as us. There was plenty of space and we managed to get sun beds everyday - it was easy if you were at the poolside by 10.30am. The food was delicious and they had a very wide range. There was also a wide range of drinks available, and poolside snacks throughout the day. The location was perfect, a 5 minute walk through a pretty woodland, and the town was a 20 minute walk. We also took a bus into Huelva - lovely town! I would highly recommend this holiday - we will be returning in the future!

we had a fantastic holiday in this hotel in jun 2012. We travelled as a family with a 5 years old boy and was very good: hotel, location, food, drinks, beach. Don't listen bad comments, remember you are in holiday, enjoy it

Me, my husband and our 2 daughters, went there to spend the New Year, since we live in the south of Portugal, and it is not far from home. We used to go to RIU Atlantico in Isla Canela (very good) but we heard that its closed for the New Year. Our appreciation is negative, the food in the buffet is terrible, heaven the pizzas are bad and not so hot, the chicken looks like boiled not roosted in the oven, very poor in salads, the fish was very bad too, in the 2nd night we went out to dinner. The cleaning was not so efficient too, we find the same piece of plastic in the floor of our baths room for 2 days. Here we have to pay to use the Gym and the water circuit. Good things? The brunch in the day out until 4 pm.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel in September and had a terrible time. The food was always cold and believe I got ill with something I ate as nothing was cooked properly. We had times when we could eat it was more like a school canteen than a restaurant. The snack bar was policed as you could not take food out.
Getting served at the bar was always a struggle if you werent spanish you had to wait.
The whole place is just too big to get any proper service. Would not stay here again, one of the worse hoidays we have been on.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for a week in October - we wanted a real chill-out holiday, and this hotel really delivered. The rooms are large, super clean and the beds fantastic. It was one of the quietest hotels at night that I've ever stayed in.

The staff helped us whenever we asked, from bus schedules to getting the air conditioning fixed (it was fixed while we were at dinner, can't beat that!). The drinks and food were better than I'd expect from an all inclusive. The area is pristine, and the beach was spotless.

To conclude, I'd highly recommend this hotel. I probably wouldn't come high season, but then I never like to travel high season! I'd recommend a room overlooking the courts, as they are very quiet.

Also, I think I'll answer some of the complaints I've read, as I thought they were unfair.

1. The beach. To get to the beach, cross the road at the crosswalk, as at the crosswalk, traffic will stop for you. Walk across, and walk along the wooden walkway for 3-5 minutes, depending on your speed. Enjoy the dunes along the way. Enjoy the pristinely clean beach for free, then walk back.

2. Going off season. This is a large hotel, I think it holds something like 4000 people. If you go high season, it will be busy and full. If you don't, it won't be.

Unsurprisingly, if you go off season, they shut down some of the bars and restaurants, but even in mid-October, a big bar, the snack bar and the large restaurant were open all day. The pool is manned by lifeguards all the time, and the activities team is still working. What else do you expect?

3. The food. A huge variety of food is served at the buffet. It is replenished as soon as things run low, and you never have dried out food sitting under heat lamps. If it's not hot enough for you, there are microwaves to heat it up. The food is tasty and fresh, if a little bland - but that's what I'd expect from a buffet!

4. Lack of English food. The hotel caters to Spanish, German, British and other cultures. There is a range of meats available (chicken, pork, beef, and even turkey), usually fish, a vegetarian dish, and always pasta. There are loads of salads and breads, and loads of cheeses and desserts and fruit.

And yes, during our stay, there were even baked beans available for breakfast, and "flipped" eggs. So obviously someone is reading these reviews on TripAdvisor and responding.

5. The dreaded wristbands. The white wristbands do not mean you are British, they mean you are from Thomas Cook. In fact, at the spa, if they see you with a white wristband, they tell you about the 15% discount you can get.

At no time did we get served after those with red, yellow or green wristbands, the bar staff did their best to serve in turn.

I will say that I did hear an English guy speak rudely to the barman, and when the barman didn't immediately understand, the guy shouted at him. Way to go, mister, that is bound to make the English more popular.

The staff always tried to understand what was being said, and both the bar and reception always had at least one person who spoke English.

6. The noise. Yes, if the bar or restaurant is full of Spaniards, it will be noisy. The Spanish enjoy life to the full, and are not quiet by nature. But why not enjoy it? You're in Spain after all, so why not acknowledge that life is different? If you are really offended by people being noisy and speaking Spanish, then maybe you should reconsider visiting Spain.

Room Tip: Choose a room overlooking the paddle courts, they are very quiet at night.

Sold this holiday in March 2012 by co-op travel as suitible for disabled persons, this was not so as my friend who is disabled could not even get to the beach and although we were promissed several bars and restaurants with easy access when we arrived on the 26th Sept for 11 days we could only use 1 bar and 1 restaurant as they were in the process of closing all the others down for the rest of the season and only the middle sections were open till end of year. Food which should have been hot was cold and when I complained I was told to use the one and only microwave which had a que waiting. I am a diabetic and there was nothing marked to say if it was suitable only one choice of marmalade indicated sugar free. So it left me no choice but Salad throughout my stay. This is not what was sold to us when booking our holiday.

Room Tip: Rooms facing tennis courts and road are quiet but no sun.

2 mature couples travelling out of school holidays for good reason, first week, the hotels were full of spanish children, all having a great and noisy time before going back to school. The facilities we were led to expect were still open for the first two days. Within one week of arrival, two of the hotels on the complex, the italian resturant, the night club(sorry childrens club) and the pool side bar were closed. We were lucky, one of the party can speak reasonable spanish and the staff were lovely, but like most people given the choice of serving a native who they could understand or struggle with the majority of the British with our quirky accents, they tried to ignore us. The resturant food was good, microwave provided to heat up, but I agree it was like a zoo, no table service, no sound insulation, bare and utilitarian. Lovely area for people like us who could get on the bus and explore.
Definately not a 4 star.

Room Tip: Rooms with a view tend to overlook the swimming pool and kiddies area, noisy in the day, but could n...
