Of the handful of places we stayed, I cannot recall this particular room, but I do remember how accommodating the reception staff was. Very nice; very polite; eager to please. We intentionally traveled far enough away from the Bavarian castles to avoid most of the Easter week tourists there and this was a lucky find. We had Italian food in a nearby village before turning for an excellent night's rest.

This is an excellent hotel, located in a very pretty village. We stayed in a nice and clean room with a balcony overlooking the mountain. The restaurant downstairs serves scrumptious, good quality, reasonably priced food. Actually we thought the food was better and tastier than what we had in many 4/5* restaurants. They even had toy baskets and colouring pencils for the kids so that parents could enjoy the food comfortably. All the staffs were friendly and welcoming. The owner/manager spoke good English. He told us about the sites we could visit, even explained the best route we could take. There are few tourist attractions around the area and they are 15/20 minutes walk from the hotel. Overall it was a good hotel-experience for us.

Travelled from a 4 star hotel to this 2 star and the categories should have been reversed. Received a warm friendly welcome with luggage carried up to our room which was very large and comfortable. It was very clean and the heating was easily adjusted. The bar and beer garden were open most of the day. The restaurant was excellent with a large choice and an English menu available. The very friendly young man in charge of the restaurant made sure we had a nice table and looked after us well. Breakfast had a large selection and the bufet was topped up as things run out. The hotel had lots of parking and was in the centre of the village which was an excellent centre for walking or touring the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

This is a really beautiful hotel. The hotel and the rooms were clean and spacious (we have 2 small childrens). The bathroom was perfect. The owner speaks English and he is really very kind and helpful. He gave us good very good suggestions for travelling in the area. All the staff was lovely with the kids. The breakfast was fine and the restaurant really good.
The hotel is located in a lovely little village in the nearby of main actractions (e.g. Kiemsee, Salzburg etc.). Parking space is available for free, as well as WIFI connections. A parking ground for childrens is at walking distance.
There is no elevator. This was not a problem for us but it could be useful to know.
Highly reccomended.

We arrived a couple of hours before check in and were welcomed enthusiastically by the Manager/Owner who assured us that it was not a problem and our room was ready for us.... we are a family of four with 2 girls aged 10 & 11, the family room that we were given was spacious enough with plenty of wardrobe space, 2 double beds and 2 singles! The decor was a little old fashioned but the room was clean as was the en-suite. We also had use of an extra reception room, which had a table and benches in it and was perfect for the evening when the girls were in bed and my husband and I shared a bottle of wine.
The village of Marquartstein is quaint and pretty and winter sports are available 15-20 minutes drive away.
The staff in the gasthof, were friendly and helpful, although only the manager could speak English, but the sign language and gesturing of the other staff was fabulous!
Breakfast was also great with plenty of selection even for fussy eaters.
We loved this place and intend to go back again soon.

Stayed one night en route to Croatia with wife and two sons. Upon arrival greeted personally by owner, welcome could not have been better. Owner speaks excellent English.

Hotel situated in square in middle of picturesque traditional Bavarian village at foot of mountains. Parking outside of hotel. Clock in village chimes every quarter hour, but stops chiming at 10PM.

Very family friendly in our experience, large spacious family room, with comfortable beds, could not have asked for better.

Food in restaurant was icing on cake, very good quality and very resaonably priced.

If in this area again, we would make a detour to stay here.
