My girlfriend and I recently came back from a trip to the southern coast of Sri Lanka from May 10-13.
We found Lanka Tracker, and Sanjaya and Christine who run it together as husband and wife, through TripAdvisor. They were really helpful giving us tips and things to do in the area we were staying, while also working with us to take us to the Yala National Park for a day trip safari!
Christine is English and is super friendly, Sanjaya is a local Sri Lankan with years of experience previously at the Department of Wildlife at Udawalawe (plus he's pretty good with English too!) and they took care of us throughout our journey. They picked us up on time at the hotel, stopped at local attractions and great sites on the journey to Yala (make sure to stop at the big freshwater lake about halfway there, huge eagles, cormorants, and vampire bats hanging from the trees!!) enjoying authentic Sri Lankan food, and getting to see the awesome wildlife in the park - everything from elephants, water buffalo, crocodiles, jackals, birds of paradise, and even leopards!
Sanjaya really knew his stuff, and it was handled really professionally. We'd love to go to Sri Lanka again and hopefully we'll be able to go longer this time. And Sanjaya and Christine at Lanka Tracker will definitely be getting a call! :)
