The nice thing in room is bath tube with jacuzzi, seperate from shower. I really like the bath room function because in the big bathroom they also separate shower with the toilet room and the sink and cubboard. Hotel provided very nice facility in the room as heater flat TV screen and so on. But if you expected the nice view from the window, they dont have because it's locate on the center of Bucheon. There are lots of activity to do eg. walk to the shopping mall around. Many resturants and bar around the hotel area. If you stay there you will not feel bored. In the evening ..opposite of the hotel also having park to walk and jogging.

Instayed in Koryo for 5 nights. Everyday, one of the fresh towels had to be dirty. The room floors are also not so clean.

An incident with the receptionist showed how unfriendly and not well trained they were. Will definitely avoid in the future.

I have stayed here a couple of times...hotel bills itself as 5 star but 3.5 would be more accurate. OK for a night or two if you need to be in this area of Seoul, but don't go out of your way.

Plus: Clean rooms. Spacious bathroom with separate shower and tub. Good sized rooms. Walking distance to many restaurants and shops including a huge Tesco. Short cab ride to metro train. Reasonably quiet. Old desktop computer to access i-net. Free internet (but room's ethernet plug does not fit a standard computer cable, had to crawl under desk to grab hotel's computer cable to plug in my laptop). Huge flat panel TV with CNN. Passable breakfast included. Fridge.

Minus: Obsolescent key card system provides weak security (room number is printed on card) and room interior lock was broken. Room was too warm but climate controls have no effect on temperature (common problem in Asia). Many rooms have windows looking out at a blank wall or back of a sign 6 inches from the window (no daylight and can't see out). (This happened to me twice). Miniscule closets, only big enough for one coat and a couple shirts. No non-smoking floors so you smell smoke from adjacent rooms. Garish and slightly weird rococo gilded furnishings.
About a $70 cab ride from airport.

Spacious room, room furniture was in a modern baroque stile, good bed, flat screen TV, bath tub with jacuzzi function, spacious shower. Staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful.
Only the wardrobe was not so easy to find and a bit small.
Lot of shops, restaurants and bars around the hotel.

I stayed at Koryo hotel for just under 3 months (it was my husband's work project and me and our baby daughter decided to go and stay with him in Bucheon) . The hotel itself is located in the city centre. It is very close to Aiins World (miniature park of famous buildings), it is also not so far from Robo Park (not very big but interesting place for Robot fans). Tesco (Home ppus) is about 5-10 min walk, Hyundai Department Store is about 15 min walk, and there are also a few other shopping centres on the way. Just round the corner from the hotel there is a very big Sangdong Lake Park - nice place for relaxing, jogging, cycling, etc. Next to this, there is Playdoci - big water/aqua park, and indoor ski slope, plus golf (360 yards).
There are plenty of restaurants and places to eat around, you don't have to go far to have a nice meal. (the lunch/dinner menu in the hotel restaurant hasn't got a lot of choice and is a lot more expensive so it is better to dine out). If you are not keen on Korean food, go to Bennigan's next to Tesco, or Outbacks, just on the other side of the road, opposite Tesco.
And dining in Korea is inexpensive.

The hotel: the lobby area and the restaurant have always been too cold as someone already mentioned. The air con could be turned up a bit. Not many of the staff speak English. If you need to speak to anyone, just speak to the general manager - he is the tall guy (the oldest of them all) always wearing suit. His English is not perfect but is the best of them all. You can exchange some currencies at the reception desk, as well as buy cigarettes (rather cheap - only 2500 WON for 1 packet) .
The hotel has a coffee shop downstairs and a restaurant on the second floor. There is no swimming pool or any other form of entertainment (I don't know how it got its 5*).
The room we stayed at was Luxury twin (one double bed, one single bed). We also had a table and two chairs, plazma tv, and a few cupboards so storage not a problem. The bathroom has only shower (no bath), and they have the electric toilet seats/bidets throughout the hotel (if you feel like having your bum pampered ;)
They give water in bottles every day, free of charge. There is a small fridge as well, air con works nice although at night it happened that I could smell the cigarette smoke (not very often) coming either from other rooms or from the restaurant. We stayed on floor 9, the restaurant is floor 2, but when they had some entertainment with music in the restaurant, I could still hear it.
Breakfast is included in the price: you have a choice of Korean food, western, continental although cornflakes are the only option in terms of cereals, plus jam, milk, coffee, tea, a choice of different types of fruit, yogurts, eggs, scrambled, boiled, fried, bread, muffins, vegetables, cheese, ham, chips. chicken, etc. And they play the same music over and over again every morning (classical melodies so not too bad ;)

While we stayed at Koryo, in August they renovated all of their twin and double rooms - new wallpapers, carpets, tvs, etc. They also refreshed the lifts and the lobby area including the entrance doors and the cafe downstairs.

The twin rooms (we had a peak in after the renovation) are a bit smaller than the luxury but still have one double, one single bed (no table or chairs), plus a small desk with a PC, there is not a lot of storage as such (just mock up table under the tv and some bed side tables with no storage. New plazma tvs, water distributor, the bathroom has a separate shower and a separate jacuzzi bath.

Internet connection in the rooms is free of charge, and it works really well and is very fast.

The mattress on the bed is very hard (aparently it is like that all over Korea - Koreans actually sleep on the floor or on a very hard top on the bed with no mattress) and for the whole period we stayed there, I couldn't get used to it so every morning my back hurt. I tried sleeping on pillows, duvets, but no help. Just reduced the length of my night sleep and managed somehow.

The hotel is more for businessmen travellers but for families it is also ok.

The last couple of months i have been travelling a lot and have been home only 4 out of 9 months. Being away from home one really misses the comfort of everything only a home can provide. So, i prefer a comfortable stay wherever i travel.

This is my second trip to Korea. I was not so sure of this Hotel when i visited Korea the first time in May 2010; but after checking in and staying there for 5 days in May, i can tell you i didnt mind returing to this hotel in June for a longer stay.

This Hotel is no different from other hotels as it has a TV, AC, comfortable mattress, bath tub etc etc. However, this hotel has all these and a little more. This time I had a room with a view. I can see clearly the skyline during the day and at night the blazing lights of the hoardings on the buildings. In other words, spectacular. If you dont prefer the noise levels, shut the windows and switch on your AC. BTW its not so hot in here during this time of the year.

The Internet is Free and is really high speed. I watched an entire movie on the net last Sunday without any breaks or disturbance. So for those who prefer to use Skype with Voice and Video, this is mecca.

The toilet seat has a speciality and being my first experience requires a note. This toilet has controls for a handsfree wash and i can tell you it will be difficult once we get used to it. The shower has multiple sprinklers for a refreshing bath. The bath tub is a circular thing good for 2; kids will love it.

The lighting inside the room is not as i would like it. I like lights everywhere, especially on the headrest of the bed. There are controls on the bed stand to manage the lights. The remote control has options to manage your AC and TV; I think it also has controls for the light. The room comes equipped with a Water purfier - so you get Hot and Cold water, per your preference.

The restaurant is good and the Breakfast is semi-continental. I enjoy my meal and being on a restricted diet is not a bother as i get my choice. The restaurant at night turns up a Live session. The choice of Wine and Food is not world class. But then you have multiple choices for food in and around the Hotel, if you so prefer.

Language is a bother in and around Korea; some of the Hotel staff speak broken English and one can manage to communicate.

Overall my experience, so far, has been good and I would surely recommend to friends for a family trip or colleagues for a business trip.

I stayed in the Koryo Hotel for several days while visiting my girlfriend who is an ELS teacher in Bucheon. The Hotel has nice rooms with a computer that made it nice to check my mail and lookup info about Korea. There was also an Internet hookup port with cable if you have you own laptop. The staff was nice and helpful, but they did not speak English very well. The bed was nice but very firm which is what most Korean's like. I stayed in two different rooms and they were both very similar with the same firmness of the bed. The hotel breakfast in the morning was very nice and was included in the room charge, so that was a plus. The breakfast offered both American (eggs, bacon, cereal, ect) items as well as Korean items to choose from. The Two things that I did not like about this hotel. The first is getting the temperature stable in the room was difficult with the floor heating system. I could never seem to get the temp right for my liking. Either too hot or too cold and it takes a long time for the heat to get to a nice temperature. In December, you want your room warm but not too hot. Second is the temperature in the Hallways and Restaurant was too cold. The room had a TV, computer & chair, table and chair, Hot & Cold water dispenser and small refrigerator. The bathroom/toilet was nice with an electric bidet toilet and a nice big whirlpool tub and standing shower. One thing I found odd was that I could not just make a reservation at the hotel, but had to go to www.hotelwide.com to make a reservation. Also you may want to check out the Polaris Hotel which is right next door to the Koryo and I think cheaper. I did not go in the Polaris, so I can not give a review of this hotel. The Koryo hotel is near a HomePlus store and the Hyundai mall with lots of American products. Also there is an Dunkin Donuts, Outback Steakhouse and a Bennigins restaurant just a few minutes walk down from the hotel. The hotel is not near a Subway station, but it only takes a cheap (10,000 won) cab about 10 minutes to take you to the Bucheon station.

Pros: Came with free Breakfast, nice room, In room computer

Cons: More expensive, coldness of hallways and restaurant.
