We stayed for 2 nights during the heatwave and the bar let's people have drinks on the terrace until they want to get inside. Which is nice for the people on the terrace, but awful if you have the lakeside suites. Even with the windows closed (not an option in the summer without airco), the noise was not bearable. I complained and they took 10 percent off the bill, which was very considerate but still there should be another policy for this.
This said: the location is magical. We had the lake to ourselves for our morning swim. And the staff could not be friendlier. We needed ironed shirts on short notice and as they are not allowed to have irons in the rooms the reception intern took the task upon him and did not even put it on the bill.
The place has a very interesting history. The breakfast is OK (not overwhelming). The room furniture is decent, not more. Lighting in room is not that fabulous. The location is the real unique selling point.More
