“A must for Hay Wain lovers!”
Reviewed March 6, 2013

We visited Flatford Mill in February 2013.

As we walked up the driveway towards the classic ‘Hay Wain” scene, I got goose bumps!

It was truly amazing to have Constable’s wonderful painting come to life before my eyes. Just to add to the sheer splendour of the moment, as I picked up my camera to take a photo, it began to snow! Magical!

Despite it being a very cold wintry day, we thoroughly enjoyed walking around the area and enjoyed the peaceful and tranquil place that it is.

“Stand and see where the Haywain was painted.”
Reviewed March 4, 2013

I have been a visitor to Flatford Mill for 60 odd yeats, it gets better each year. You can hire boats and punts to go up the river, true unspoilt Constable country. Great Tea Rooms, good car park, bring a picnic, row up the river, find a quiet spot for your picnic, heaven, another age.

“Great fun for all family”
Reviewed January 26, 2013

We hired a boat and rowed the river from Dedham to Flatford, had a picnic, fed the ducks and came back.
Great afternoon out, packed a picnic the children enjoyed running along the river while we rowed, they even had a go.
It's what family holidays are all about

“Lovely place to visit”
Reviewed January 10, 2013

Not a lot there apart from a walk by the river and delightful view of the constable painted landscape .
Worth a visit if near but not a specific far drive
