Was last in Barbados in 2007 and had a wonderful meal here. Unfortunately, while the fantastic views remain, the fantastic food has disappeared. Prices have rocketed and the fayre served was average at best. Really, really disappointing,

The food is fantastic but.............we had to tell two different people we had a booking, then we sat down for a pre dinner drink and waited twenty minutes, got passed from barman to waitress to order these.
The staff did not smile, were completely disinterested. We sat down in a what can only be described as a squashed dining area, with thin canteen cutlery and ordered dinner, as our starters arrived we noticed the next table had an amuse bouche, on questioning the waiter as to why we hadn't had one he said that the pre starter was only served to repeat customers!
We thought the food itself more stylish than The Cliff but everything else was ghastly. Would not recommend.

We were staying a few bays down from Holetown and loved walking up and down the perfectly beautiful beaches a few times a day. The Tides is located just south of Holetown, so we passed by it many times and were captivated by their menu. It looked a bit pricey, but the room was lovely and again - perched right on the edge of the sea with the waves crashing feet from your table! Barring a storm, this is about as perfect a location as you could possibly imagine!

Do make a reservation if you choose to go here - we did not, and the only thing that worked was that we came early to watch the sunset, so we were able to get a table.

We decided to share an appetizer: Asparagus with poached egg, potato, artichoke, prosciutto and a chive hollandaise sauce (also would have made a great brunch item!!) Really delicious!
For entrees I had sea bass with sea scallops - divine! and Richard had grilled barracuda, also fresh and tasty. We shared a dessert: Trio of creme brulee: mango and spiced rum, rich milk chocolate, and vanilla bean glace with cane sugar (the main crop of the island!) Lovely end to a great meal.

Highly recommended!

We went to Tides yesterday for a birthday lunch and it was absolutely lovely. Lovely setting, fantastic food and great service, and didn't cost an arm and a leg either.
I would highly recommend Tides for any special occasion.

Thank Scary

Celebrated our 30th anniversary at Tides back in 2011 - great services and fabulous food. 2012 we went back for my birthday and although there seemed to be an awful lot of people taking care of us the food was very good, hot and served in a timely manner. This year we went back again and still more people involved in the dinner parade but the service was painfully slow and the food was of only moderate quality. Tides out of it...
