Fantastic Villa. It is in a perfect location with the beach on your door step. Well located for shops and many restaurants. We had an amazing stay and will be going back.

“West Coast Beachside Paradise”
Reviewed November 23, 2015 for a stay in June 2015

I stayed here with friends for two weeks back in June, it was my first visit to the island and I was completely blown away with how amazing it was. You couldn’t ask for a better place or location.

The rooms are spacious with great air-conditioning, you go out into the back garden where there is a covered spacious seating area where you can relax and unwind without being overlooked, and over to the deck and you have the perfect view of the sea and beach (we enjoyed many good sunsets here). Next door is Tides, which is arguably one of the best restaurants on the island, we had an amazing meal here. We also made use of the local fish market and cooked it all on the brick barbecue in the garden which was amazing!!

There is so much this area has to offer, some of my favourite parts included walking down the beach, swimming with turtles, and playing gold at the rather impressive Sandy Lane golf course. We also booked to go on a deepsea fishing trip while we were there which was a lot of fun, and there is nothing better than cooking your fresh catch on the BBQ. The town has many many nice bars and restaurants all within a couple of minute walk from the villa. There are also supermarkets within a 2 minute walk so you don’t have to eat out all of the time and the kitchen is well equipped as well.

Overall I had an amazing time, I would definitely go back and would recommend anyone considering a trip to Barbados to stay here.

“Barbados' best kept secret...”

Just got back from our third visit to St James Villa - this time we took some friends for their first trip to Barbados and they understood why we keep coming back to St James Villa - and will do again. Simply no need to look any further.

Firstly, the location is just perfect. The villa is right on the beach, so you can jump straight into the sea and swim around the coral and if you're lucky see a few turtles.

Within a stones throw is Tides, my favourite restaurant on the island. Also in short walking distance is a whole host of other excellent dining in Holetown to suit all budgets. Some of our favourite evenings were actually having a bbq in the villa with fresh-off-the-boat tuna, swordfish and mahi-mahi. Perfect.

I would definitely recommend you take a previous reviewer's advice and take a drink onto the decking and watch the sunset - we did just that every evening.

The villa itself is everything we could ask for, clean and comfortable, of course air conditioning in every bedroom.

We're already looking forward to booking our next visit!

“Fantastic Beachside Villa”

When the owner told us they regularly enjoy staying at the villa and have been doing so since the 1980s I thought ‘yes, yes, good sales line’. Having stayed at the villa I now believe them. The location is exceptional. The garden backs onto the beach boardwalk. The west coast location provides breath-taking sunsets every evening. Supermarket to high end fashion shops are within flip-flop walking distance as are restaurants and bars.

Tip1: Sit on the deck at sunset. The world will seem a better place.

Tip2: Upstairs has been more recently renovated.

Tip3: There is a list of standard taxi charges in the airport arrivals hall. The current standard charge to Holetown is 58.00 $BDS or 29.50 $US. Recommend telling the driver "the villa immediately north of Tides restaurant, Holetown".

“Sun, Sea, Sand, Grilled Fish & Macaroni Pie”

Just returned from another fantastic two weeks at St James Villa with Friends. The location is excellent, set on the luxurious West Coast in between one of the best restaurants on the island, Tides on one side and one of the best burgers I've ever tasted at Zaccios on the other! There's numerous bars and restaurants for all budgets close by, with Jast Grillin, Tapas, Beach House and trendy lounge bar the Drift all worth a visit. It's also a short walk to Holetown and the bars and restaurants at Lime Grove and 1s and 2nd street.

The villa is spacious and well equipped with a kitchen for making lunches and breakfasts when we didn't venture out as well as trying our hand at making our own macaroni pie, a local delicacy! There's also a brick BBQ in the garden that we used extensively to grill fish we caught from our deep sea fishing excursion or from the local fish markets.

My favourite thing about St James villa is the easy access to the boardwalk and beach via the back garden, where you can catch an amazing view of the sunset over a beer or rum punch from the villa's decking overlooking the sea. After sunset we tended to move to the villa's spacious covered outdoor seating area which was a great place to socialise and play games til late (or as long as we could stay awake from jet lag)

Overall, I'd highly recommend St James Villa to anyone looking for a comfortable, relaxing stay on the beautiful west coast of Barbados.

“Perfect Location”

My husband and I, and my mother, stayed in the ground floor apartment for only four nights so we could attend my brother's wedding at The House, just along the coast.

Having zero knowledge of Barbados and its geography Alan was so helpful when we enquired and assured us we were in the right place.

We loved the villa and would like to return and stay longer.

Sun deck overlooking the beach was amazing and the perfect place to watch the world go by. Location was great - supermarket across the road, plus easy access to shops and restaurants in Holetown.

We used buses and taxis to get around - all very easy.

Villa was lovely, light airy and clean with all that we needed.

“A little piece of paradise on the West coast”
Reviewed April 29, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

The position of the villa in relation to Holetown is difficult to better in that you are right on the beach (you can be in the sea within 30 seconds from going out of the door) and you are also no more than two minutes from the shops, cafés and restaurants. Therefore no real need to drive anywhere IF you don't wish to. The bus stops are just 50metres away as well, so all parts of the island can be accessed easily.
The villa itself is light and spacious with the benefit of A/C if you need it. There is also a lovely breeze that blows through at various times.
We stayed in the apartment upstairs with two bedrooms, both ensuite, and the view from the balcony is one you will never forget, especially the sunsets! The maid service provided is a real bonus in that you do not have to worry about the the usual chores. The villa has every facility that you expect to find at home.
This was our second visit and we able to use our previous knowledge of this part of Barbados to good effect.
Tides is well worth a visit next door, or, if you wish walk the other way along the beach to Zaccios, you will also find a good menu available. Plus of course all the other places in Holetown. We liked Flindts for that coffee and cake...
