Good food at good prices. Nice fruit punches. Relaxing atmosphere and a view of the beach. Shows sports events too.

Service slow, waited twenty minutes for our meal, and it wasn't that busy. Only had one breakfast there which took ages and was just palatable, and uninspiring and fruit juices watery. The good news, it's on the beach.

They have big screen tv's and it is on the water so life is still pretty good---but if you want to eat - there are a lot of much better places in Barbados.

We went to the Surfside three times during our stay, finding it to be a great place to while away the afternoon with an unnecessarily large lunch and a couple of beers. The place was always full - so much so that people would have to queue for a seat. With that sort of turnover, the food is freshly cooked, but the downside is that you'd have to wait, which is no problem if you are tuned in to Bajan time. We were in Holetown during the annual festival and so there was live music adjacent to the restaurant, which made for a fun atmosphere. There is also a bar area for those who just want drinks. From there and also the area in front on the sand you can see right over the sea.

The restaurant has some specialities: the fish; the fishcakes (which are spicy); and the burgers - all of which are good value. The only thing to watch out for is the amount you are charged on your bill or the change you receive. Each time there was something wrong. Others we met who had been there had the same experience. Having said that, we dealt with it immediately and effectively. It's a shame, because it's a sure way to lose out on a tip, even if otherwise it's deserved.

This is a great beachside restaurant, very family friendly and the steel pan band is great. I first visited this place in 1998 and was amazed to find the band was still playing there last year when we went to Barbados to get married.
You should definitely try the flying fish.
