Virgin Moved us to this Hotel From the Sandy bay beach Club-Result!!!!! I can't stress how great this hotel is. The staff, thats all the staff from the cleaner up to the Manager are so helpfull and seem genuine in their concern for your enjoyment whilst in their hotel. The rooms are cleaned to the highest standards and the pools are in great codition. The food is just fantastic and the chefs work so hard, all incusive is just that and not just a cheap unbranded stand ins. The highly reported bird problems at other hotels at meal times is all but sorted here ( they simply feed the birds prior to feeding guests) The beach is so close your feet get wet getting out of bed! even the locals on the beach are an upgrade on those found in other districts. The entertainment is good and ends at 11pm but there is lots just outside the hotel for those nocturnal guests, even so there is little noise in the apartments. There are even compimentary trips thrown in!!
Some of lifes choices are simple-this one is-Just Book it & enjoy.

We loved the hotel. It's beautifull.
The negative points:
I'll start with those because this is always the things that we like to know.
The dress code for dinner. A bit too much. Only one restaurant so I don't think they should be so fussy about it. Jeans , tee-shirt, or smart shorts not allowed. Young people don't carry in their suitcase "normal" trousers or polos when they go on holiday to a place like Barbados.
If you are the kind of personn who gets cold easily watch the fans on the top of some of the dinning tables. In September at night is not that hot.
Bar closes at midnight. One bar attendant Gordon..Brandon??? Very nice guy..was the only one who would remind us the time and get us drinks before closing the bar.
No night entertainment. Music over dinner and that's it. Bars outside are a bit expensive. But Bridgetown is not too far,(20min drive) you can get a taxi for about 100BDS/50US/£25 each way.
We went to two places only..Harbour light open disco. On wednesday male: 50US woman 40US Crew discount if you show your company ID.all drinks included. And the Limelight cafe very nice music.
Avoid rooms next to the library. Facing the street. Very noisy over night.
Buy next to the hotel at the petrol station mosquito repellent for your room. If your one of those people...
Now the good points:
We loved it!
If we would have known the negative sides of it before we would have been prepared.
So..The hotel is very cute.. small not too busy..that's why I recommend the low season. High season you may have to wait a lot for dinner even though it's booked. The long chair in the beach..not many as well as the "umbrellas"
Staff at the restaurant are very nice, brillant service. Brillant food. We loved the soup.
Staff at reception..don't expect too much from them.
If you go to Bridgetown don't forget to take your passport . All shops are duty free. Something that reception forgot to mention.
The catamaran trip ..great!
The rooms are very nice. Clean. Free room safe. Try to take pictures but they wouldn't do any good to them. Not the right light. Free internet access.
The horse riding...lovely..2 hours for 120BDS/£30 each. Worth it. You ll see beautifull places. "Steve's stables". You should see him passing by the beach. The hotel takes a comission if you book through them.
The all inclusive inclued free trip to Bridgetown, free catamaran, free boat glass, free water skying.
We had a brillant time. Young people : go with friends as we did.
Older couples who are looking for a quiet nice place, you 'll love it.

Just back from a 9 night stay at Mango Bay.

I read many of the reviews on Tripadvsier before I booked and now having stayed here - I can only agree with all the good comments - I really can't find fault with anything.

The Hotel is clean and some if not all of the rooms have been refurbished recently - the food is great - the staff are super friendly and the setting is ideallic.

The free trips included within the cost of our stay were great fun - the beach sellers were entertianing - the water was clear blue and warm.

The Hotel is a great place to spend a week or so relaxing and soaking up the atmosphere of Barbados.

I will certainly be going back again very soon and would reccomend it to anyone be they a single traveller - a couple or a family.

A great place for a holiday !!!!!

What a fantastic hotel!!

It is a small hotel in the middle on Holetown, in St James.

I really loved this Hotel because the staff are absolutely fantastic! You will not be disappointed it is beautiful. The staff really know how to make your experience something special. I went over the Barbados for a wedding and was over there for a week. I really felt this time was way too short.

The hotel know how to cater for families as well as adutts, but there are not any kids clubs at the hotel. As the hotel is in the middle of Hole town you can go shopping and for walks and feel perfectly safe, as many of the other hotels you will need to take a taxi.

There is nightlife just outside the hotel, from everything to bars, restaurants and even a KFC!!

I hope the staff read this and appreciate what a fantastic time they made this experience for me and my sister.

Onisha and Kevin - hope you get this as I did not get any emails from you guys. Thank you so much for taking me out! ( email me again - check the email address from when I checked in)
Also a big shout out to Mr Gordon at the bar who was always making them drinks ( mines was always a JD & coke!).
By the way I hope Aunty Francis gets a break from House Keeping.

Missing you guys already xx

Sylthea xx

Just returned from an excellent two weeks at the Mango Bay Hotel. The place was everything we could have wished for - nice comfortable room, small but pleasant pool, excellent beach front location, very good food, quality entertainment, nice bar and very friendly and attentive staff. Would love to return again if and when we get the opportunity.

  • Liked — Cleanliness and comfort
  • Disliked — Lack of quiet space in the gardens/grounds - shortage of sun shields and umbrellas

This resort is located in the popular west coast. My stay at this resort during my birthday was really enjoyable, barring the fact they also threw in a surprise complimentary bottle of sparkling wine in our room! There is a real personal touch to this resort, staff were always friendly and polite, they made frequent conversation to make sure you were having a good time, asking you how was the food and if there were any problems etc.
Being an all-inclusive resort means that you can forget about losing any weight. Friday BBQ nights means going back for that second serving of succulent steak. The food otherwise is quite good and if you feel you've over-indulged there's always the salad bar to go crazy with. And as for the drinks, they sure don't hold back on the alcohol they serve.
There are also activities included with the stay you can opt to join. We went on the glass bottom boat tour & got to feed the fishies. You can hire snorkelling gear, go jet-skiing, feed the turtles...lots of things great for the family. If you choose to do nothing, the beach is literally behind the resort so there are a lot of deckchairs for sunbaking.
The resort also has a spa which I would recommend. I had an aromotherapy massage that was so relaxing. However, prices weren't cheap and they do not open on Sundays or Mondays.
In all, my stay was quite memorable and I would love to be able to afford to go back every year!

Recently returned from the Mango Bay hotel. We had an AMAZING time there, it was great. There was a group of 4 of us (all boys aged 21-30) and it was fabulous. The staff are very friendly and will go out of their way to help us. Take for example Cleston - the guy that works on the watersports. He catered to all of our recreational needs and more. Gordon and Eugine at the bar make the most amazing drinks and are so friendly. ALL of the ladies in the restaurant are lovely - although there are a few that shone through (Samantha, Regina to name but two). The hotel is a quaint lettle resort in Holetown. It is approximately 20 minuites from Bridgetown and 35 from St Lawrence Gap (the more lively area of barbados). The beach outside the hotel is idillic, and only a 2minuite walk from Folkstone the marine reserve. The rooms are perfectly airc onditioned, and the accomodation is more than comfortable.
From what we saw the hotel is far superior to the hotels either side of it and for the money it is probably the best hotel in Barbados.
The West coast has the best beaches, and it is very easy to get about either buy taxi or bus (the yellow bus is a must do). Things to do include the catamaran cruise, glass bottom boat, and fishing excursions, aswell as jet and water skiing, snorkelling and scuba diving. We found the most reasonable prices to be from Reefers and Wrekers in Spightstown (Micheal and Philip), other recomendations are the jeep safari and the Oistens excursion on Friday nights, the Atlantis submarine, and another must is to hire a car and tour the island. Everything can be arranged through the hotel. Ask Onisha at reception - she along with Ryan are stars and will help you wherever they can.

Overall the mango bay hotel exceeded all of our expectations and we would all most definately go back.
