We wanted a nice place to go for dinner for our first night in Barbados and didn't have advance reservations. Our great taxi driver, Perry, who drove us in from the airport, recommended the Beach House, since we had stated a preference for something nearby in Holetown. After giving us some time to unpack and change, Perry came back to pick us up and had arranged a table for us right along the railing overlooking the sea. What a great setting to unwind into Bajan mode! The torches, canopies, fountains and greenery and the refreshing, gentle, Caribbean breeze made it easy. I think the setting is exceptional, almost as good as the Cliff. The live music was most enjoyable, without being intrusive, and the tables are nicely spaced.
The food was very good, with lots of variety and nicely prepared and presented. There was also a good wine selection. The service started out very well, both professional and attentive, but deteriorated a bit as the night went on and things got busier. We ended up pouring our own wine at one point and getting the attention of someone for the bill at the end took a little while. But we were on vacation and the pace was relaxed, so no big deal. The overall cost was reasonable for the quality of the food and location. It was not our most expensive meal, but certainly not our cheapest. Overall a very good experience and would definitely go back.
