We have dined at Sitar many times over the years but this years’ experience was different.
The place was almost empty which struck us as being very odd at 7:30 at night.
The 2 wait staff didn't seem to care and there body language showed as much.
With an empty restaurant staring at us we were promptly seated in the middle of the place with the main isle way beside us. The staff then proceeded to ignore us for about 5 minutes before asking if we'd like a drink. Once we'd ordered our starters and wine the one staff member stood almost next to us as we ate, this made us feel very uncomfortable.
One thing I must say is the food is still very good, maybe the owners will read a few more reviews and realise they need to either re-train there staff or dare I say it replace them with someone who cares...we've dined here before and had both a great meal and experience.
I hope the positive friendly staff returns before our next visit.

We ate at Sitar in Holetown on a recent visit to Barbados, and would recommend a visit. As the name suggests, Sitar offers an Indian menu, and a break from the normal Barbados menus of Flying Fish and Thai Shrimp Curry! I wouldn’t say it’s an authentic Indian Menu, more the Western style food which Brits have become more than familiar with! Its reasonably priced....for the West Coast(!), food is good (try the tandoori dishes) and service is quick and efficient..we were in and out in 1 hour. Only comment is that they don’t have any Indian brand lagers, such as KingFisher or Cobra, but I assume these are hard to come by in this part of the world. Its popular, certainly at the weekends, on the Friday night we couldn’t get a table as it was full so I’d recommend booking if possible.
We’ll be back on the island in April, and will return here for dinner.

We went here for an evening meal. The food was very tasty but the service could not match this standard. Very slow and unattentive. Had to wait for ages even to get a drink and menus. The poor service meant we didn't go back.
