“Got it all wrong.”
Reviewed January 17, 2014

We shuffled in as it was tightly packed with tables and wanted a quiet table , but that was not possible. We sort of sat in alley outside the main restaurant. They tried to serve the starters without any drinks and we refused, the food was ok, and it was good for a fast meal with children ,but not a couples restaurant and it was very basic

Thank you for your feedback, and I'm sorry that you did not enjoy your experience at Spago 2nd Street, Holetown. I agree, this location is not for those wanting a quiet night, it's in the heart of the hustle and bustle of historic Holetown, definitely for those looking for action.

I believe you would have been much happier at one of our other 2 locations; one overlooking the beach, the other at Sugar Hill Estate overlooking the West Coast and Caribbean Sea. I do hope you'll give us another chance, and try one of these locations, which I'm sure will better suit a quiet night out.

“Spagos in Holetown”
Reviewed January 16, 2014

The photos and reviews are confusing, there are two Sagos, one in 2nd Street Holetown and one at Setters Becah, which most of the photos on this site refer to.

2nd Street, super little informal restaurant, with a good menu and friendly staff.

If you can get one of the few outside tables, then ypou can sit and watch the world go by.

Thank you for pointing out that there is more than one Spago Restaurant in St James. We've tried to separate all 3 on Trip Advisor, but not possible. 2nd Street and Settlers' Beach locations are still shown as one restaurant, although they are in very different settings:

2nd Street, where "the action's at" and Settlers' Beach relaxed, more of a romantic atmosphere overlooking the beach. The newest location at Sugar Hill, is also a more relaxed environment, for those who want a quieter meal experience.

Spago at Sugar Hill and Settlers' Beach serve food all day from 11AM -11PM, Spago in 2nd Street is open for dinner from 6.30 and serves food at the weekend until midnight.

“A touch of Italy in Barbados”
Reviewed January 7, 2014 via mobile

Having just arrived in Barbados and unsure of what was where, we took a walk to find a restaurant. Spago was very busy, which is always a good sign. They didn't have a table for 30 minutes so we went across the road for a drink. On returning, the table was quickly prepared and we sat out the front. It was a very relaxed atmosphere, but unlike other Barbados restaurants, service was reasonably quick. The food was good, hearty, traditional Italian food and was reasonably priced (for Holetown!).

“Worst Worst Worst!”
Reviewed January 5, 2014

Wow! What a terrible experience this was. I felt like I was in an episode of the walking dead because it was if everyone was asleep. Awful service, our server had no idea what bottle of wine that we ordered, took forever to bring us the right one and open it. My food came out cold. I ask them to reheat it and then it was overcooked. When I first asked them to reheat it, you'd think they would've taken it right back right away but of course she poured the wine from the correct bottle that served first before taking it away.
Slow, inattentive, indifferent, incompetent service.
