This castle of Sassanid Architecture and with years of history is a worthwhile attraction in Khorammabad if you are on your way to Hamedan. Built of mud-bricks, fired mud-bricks, stone and mortar, it was said to have 12 towers originally but now there are only 8 left! It is an impressive architectural piece of work. It also gives visitors an aerial view of the city's busy bazaar below! We were dogged tired after a long bus ride from Esfahan enroute to Kermanshah and Hamedan but were delighted to see and soak in this sight! Indeed a worthwhile stopover!
