We stayed here as so many do, for two nights, between a Hurtigruten trip and Kirkenes, and we were a bit concerned as to where exactly we would be and what we would do - it was paradise! I have never spent time in such a remote, beautiful and wonderful location, in deep snow and it was truly exhilerating. Just to enjoy a walk on the peninsula in snow shoes with wonderful guide (Arne? not sure of spelling) was to experience the love of this man for his surroundings and his generosity in bringing it to vibrant life and sharing that with us. We spotted reindeer and many animal tracks and learnt a lot about the unique nature of this area and its people- thank you.
the guest house is lovely, like staying in a dear friend's home, with great home cooking three times a day, very comfy rooms and lovely people who are happy to chat, to provide flasks and shoe grips, whatever is needed.
We spent two days just taking pictures, relaxing, walking and wishing it was for a week - the Hurtigruten crew again very ignorant of what a special place this is, be sure to go and you will love it!
To the end of my life I will remember the very unique and lovely place we were lucky enough to visit and the peace I felt there.More
