We stayed here for 2 nights over the August Bank Holiday in 2012. Our room was on the first floor and was a decent size with adequate storage space, 2 comfortable bedroom chairs and a digital tv. The view from our window was of the rooftop of another building though we could see the sea if we looked out of the bathroom window. Basic toiletries were provided. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was the usual cereals and a choice of kippers, eggs on toast or full English. We opted for full English. It was adequate for our needs but I've had better elsewhere. Service in the restaurant was good and we were greeted immediately on our arrival on both occasions. The menu said breakfast was £7.50 but this was presumably for non-residents as it was included in the room price. There are a couple of very comfortable lounges for guests. When we came to check out we were asked for the full rate (£82.50 per night) but I queried it and as I had my booking.com confirmation with me it was changed immediately without any fuss. Whether there would have been a problem if I hadn't had my confirmation with me I don't know but I'm glad I did. Would I stay there again? Yes, if visiting the area. However, as I found the area to be extremely boring without anything to recommend it I don't think that occasion will arise.

A party of four girls doing a cycling tour of Norfolk. Stayed at the Manor Hotel for one night in August. Received a warm welcome by the owner who made sure our bikes were locked away safely. Rooms nice and big, bathrooms functional albeit a little dated. Breakfast was nice and plentiful, staff all very friendly. Would go back if in the area again.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view!!

For a nice building in a decent position, the room i got (albeit booked at a cheap rte and as a single) was struggling to reack Travelodge standard in terms of character, not helped by a view from the window on a blank wall 1 metre away. The bathroom had a sea view, but unless the window is open, you cannot see it and as the window frosting is the only protection from being looked into from the hotel garden, this is a vexed issue. Adequately clean, decent TV, OK toiletries/ coffee, but really nothing screaming at me to come and stay again. The big turnoff for me was the breakfast service - all the issues mentioned by the previous reviewer were present for me, added to a 20 minute wait between entering the dining room and being brough a menu / asked if i wanted a tea/coffee on the first morning and a 15 minute wait on the second. Over and above that recption seemed to be unmanned pretty much constantly. To be honest, against curren industry standard, this would be a 2 star review but for the fact that it was the cheapest room for several miles around by a good 15 quid....

Room Tip: Try and get one with full sea view - some rooms are quite small.

This is a family run hotel, and may I say the hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, but when it comes to presentation at this hotel it leaves a lot to be desired. The location is excellent, and so is the bar and communal lounge, We had an evening meal which was good value and served with a smile.
The room was fine, but the showeroom was very small with a small shower which had mold around the bottom and nowhere to put the soap etc. The only place to put anything was the window ledge. I found breakfast a fiasco. Happy Shopper 4 or £1.50 multibuy yogourts on display, and the coffee had a Happy Shopper weak taste to. The bread was presented as opened sliced loaf wrappers without tonges so it was dip your hand in after the last person, not even canteen standard
Poached egg on toast was ordered and we were told the toaster is over there. So it was a case of put it on your own toast."The Hotel Inspecter" programme may have some advice. This was the more expensive of our 3 hotel tour, and it rates 3rd.To our amazement it has a Tripadviser Award of Excellence 2011/12 proudly displayed!

Room Tip: Standard room No2 has small shower room

Stayed at The Manor Hotel for work this July and found the place to be very comfortable, friendly and efficient. The property is in excellent condition with many original features and atmosphere. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Worth following up an internet booking with a call, as they missed that I had booked two rooms and had me down for one. Luckily they were not fully booked that day anyway. Rooms very well maintained and individually styled. Would definitely stay there again.
