“Late booking and looked after well”
Reviewed November 15, 2013

I was with a friend and felt unwell so needed to book in at the last minute. The place is very nice and tastefully furnished. Very comfortable bed, pillows and bedding. The room was well fitted although quite small and curtains could have been lined. The breakfast looked great but I couldn't face it. The lounge looked inviting although I didn't stay long enough. Small gripe was heating did not stay on all night but its a good place and I would stay again. £45 was about right, would only pay more if room were bigger. Handy shop just across road.

Hello Paul, thank you for the feed-back. I agree that the room is small but the curtains are lined and of very good quality made to measure by a local furnishing company. The heating is never turned off in the winter but is turned down at night to 20 degrees c as most people prefer a slightly cooler room at night.Glad that you enjoyed your stay. Kind Regards Dave and Lena.

It was the perfect place for a one night stay for my boyfriend's birthday. On arrival we were treated to a delicious home made blueberry scone which was a lovely surprise. We spent the afternoon enjoying walks on the nearby beach. Our room had a modern, cosy feel with really cool wall paper! The room was fully equipped with a comfy bed, flat screen tv and jacuzzi bath. At breakfast we were spoilt for choice with a continental buffet and a cooked breakfast. The owner was very attentive and made us feel welcome. I would recommend the Overcliff Lodge to anyone looking for a relaxing break by the sea.

We can't praise this B&B highly enough. Everything is absolutely lovely including the hosts. Beautiful decor, spotlessly clean and so many nice little touches. The breakfast was simply amazing, better than anything we have experienced even in much more expensive places. We only stayed one night as part of a short cycling break but we will definitely be back. This place should go on 'Three in a Bed' they would win hands down! Obviously a lot of thought, care and effort has been put in to making it so nice. Idyllic cycling in the nearby 'quiet lanes' as well. Thank you very much.

Have just returned from a nights stay at Overcliff lodge (my second stay since July) and can honestly say it is a truly first class place. Cream tea and a warm welcome on arrival, beautifully decorated room with every thing you could possibly want! Full length mirror..lovely and clean bathroom .. large comfortable bed and a lovely comfy and cosy lounge to curl up and read in. I happily wandered around in my socks! Dave and Lena should be very proud of what they have achieved! Will return soon im sure....

What a lovely B&B. Beautifully clean and well decorated. The breakfast was superb, but no wonder, as the cook was a chef. Well situated for lovely walks by the sea. We stayed in the Puffin room, which had a whirlpool bath. Very well laid out and comfortable, with special finishing touches. Thank you so much.

Room Tip: Puffin room was lovely, but that was the only room we saw.

Booked the room on the strength of previous reviews, which seemed too good to be true, but the standard of accommodation was even better than expected - spotless and well appointed. Freshly made cream tea with warm blueberry scones on arrival were much appreciated. Location good - a five minute walk from the beach - but the breakfast spread surpassed it all.
Would not hesitate to book again and can definitely recommend.
Many thanks to Dave (and Lena although we didn't have the pleasure of meeting her).

My parents stayed for a mid-week break at the beginning of September. They were thrilled with the quality of this B & B and the welcome that they got. The home made scones, cream and jam on arrival was a first class touch. The bedroom was spotless and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was more than they could have wished for and the variety the best they had ever had, from fruit, cereals, preserves and croissants to a full English breakfast. They could not have asked for more from this lovely B & B run by a lovely couple who clearly care about their guests. They would have no hesitation in returning.
