“Very good food in a very nice setting!”
Reviewed December 5, 2012

This was a restaurant that our private tour guide took us to for lunch, and since there were many in the village, I was a bit concerned that it might not be too good, because sometimes, tour guides have special deals with restaurants. However, it was very good!! The views of the sea and surroundings were beautiful! There were both tourists and locals at this restaurant which is always a good sign. I had seafood pasta which was delicious, served piping hot; it was also a good size portion. My husband had the fresh grilled swordfish which was also good, if you want something other than pasta.

“Perfect place to refuel after walking up to Castelmola”
Reviewed October 18, 2012

Having walked from Taormina up to Castelmola and wandering around the ancient village we were really hungry. Had lunch here with my wife. Meal and service was really good. The views of Etna were awesome.

“Best food for lunch with wonderful views over Taormina”
Reviewed October 10, 2012

We decided to take the bus up to Castelmola for the photo ops and views and to check out Bar Turrisi....famous for its tongue in cheek male anatomy! There isn't much to do up there but the bus ride was fun if you like steep twisty roads and hairpin turns!!! The drivers really know their curves and space...we have a video of the ride which could make one seasick...
So after taking photos and walking around we were hungry so found this little Tratorria we were seating on the outdoor terrace overlooking Taormina and the valley around us... the antipasto we had was the second best ever of our 3 week trip with a wonderful assortment of typical Sicilian bites. The house wine vino rosso, was delicous too and after too many pastas with heavy red sauce, the pasta Carbonara was delicious... even better than my husband cooks!!!! In Sicily they usually share food as 4 courses is just too much, so we have learned the phrase uno per due and they don't seem to mind at all. If you go up to Castelmola... do NOT miss this restaurant. After traveling for 3 1/2 weeks all around Sicily, this is still one of our top 3 favorite meals.

“Avoid. Avoid”
Reviewed October 1, 2012

The surliest staff and the stodgiest Italian food this side of The Regatta (private joke). A miserable experience not even compensated for by the view of Etna - not visible at night, of course.

“Superb value and food”
Reviewed September 18, 2012

We weren't too sure about this restaurant, however we wondered down and had an evening meal, on eof us had the Rissotto with Prawns the hote the fish pasta both good, and classic Italian, we followed with two meals from the specials, one had grilled swordfish the other tuna, how can you make something so simple task so good!! its easy to make both these fish dry, but they where both moist and succulent, I alway worry aboutteh speacilas as you never know whatthe cost will be, well i was totaly surprised, two courses a bottle of water and wine all for €80! Sorry forgot the coffee as well.
