This year we went back to Piccolo Golf after 2 yrs and were again very pleasantly surprised. It has the best location possible in the exclusive Costa Smeralda area, as it is at a few minutes from the best beaches of the area (Capriccioli, Principe, Romazzino, Celvia and Liscia Ruju) and is reasonably priced. It has a limited number of rooms which in my opinion is very important as it is makes for a quiet stay and at the same time every client is well attended. Breakfast is served in a nice veranda which is fresh and is close to the pool and garden, and since our last visit has improved in quality and presentation: home made sweet and vegetable cakes are highly recommended! The family is extremely nice and friendly and prepared to give a lot of useful tips and advice. The rooms are very spacious and clean, the ones on the lower level give on the parking and/or garden which is full of flowers and very green and relaxing , while the ones on the first floor have nice views. It is perfect for a quality and very relaxing sea holiday (which is what we are looking for) while at the same time representing a very good value for money proposition. But is also a perferct base given its incredible location to visit all the beaches and attractions of the famous Costa Smeralda area (San Pantaleo is a must!) We highly recommend Il Piccolo Golf if you are planning a stay in this area, in my opinion most guests make the mistake of staying only for 2-3 day periods, which means they don't have the time to relax and enjoy the area properly, we stayed 10 days and wished we could stay longer! An important practical note: it is highly recommended to go by foot at least to the closest beaches as la Celvia (despite the heat),as you wil face high parking charges for the car (€ 2 per hour) or risk fines and more importantly miss a walk through the flowers and splendid villas which surround the beach. Finally as it is a B&B, you will need to go out for dinner every evening, but wil find very convenient the nearby Baretto for pizzas and pasta dishes (next door to the hotel), while if you want something more elaborate you will need to take the car and go closer to the Porto Cervo area where you have lots of alternatives (provided your budget allows for this....). I wish you a good stay and enjoy Sardinia!
