My wife my 2 daughters and I stayed here for a week in July 2013 and we had a ball . The kids loved it . Animals ,fresh air, peace and quiet (until we arrived) . The houses are huge and spotless with all the mod cons .Sean and his family are the perfect hosts
It's the kind of place you will always go back to and the kids are still talking about pulling corn from the fields to feed the pigs and being taken out in the boat with Sean acting as Gondiler at the back .like all those we met during our stay we will definitely return
Thanks Sean

Myself and several friends stayed for a weekend in Belan Lodge as we were attending a wedding nearby.

Sean and his family are lovely hosts, and the houses themselves are fantastic. Beautifully furnished, spotless, and extremely comfortable, I'm not sure the photos quite communicate how spacious they are. We also had a chance to visit the nearby pub on Friday night, after watching another dismal Irish football performance, friendly locals and a generous barman made sure we stayed there till all hours!

I would fully recommend the place to anybody visiting the area, you won't regret it.

After staying at quite a few B&Bs and guesthouses around Ireland this is by far the best we've stayed and the best value. The standard of the rooms is 4 star, spotlessly clean, great power shower and very warmly decorated. Comfortable king size bed and all this for the price of a 2 star hotel room. Very reasonable rate all year round. Very underrated place that should be advertised more I think. Visiting anywhere around Kildare, Loais or even Wicklow stay here! Well worth it!

The calls of "Sean" from the kids are still ringing in our heads, from the moment we arrived at Belan the kids took straight to the 'host with the most' who showed them around, gave them jobs to do (feeding and counting the animals). This was a place where our 6, 4 and 2 year old thrived - so much so that we booked our return visit.

We stayed in the B&B Lodge which was arranged to accommodate our young family -furnishings we rate above the norm. The beds were extremely comfortable and both room and ensuite were family friendly. You won't find better value about either.

Sean makes for an excellent host, from a personal cup of tea on arrival to a chat and donkey and cart trips to the local pub or a trip in the pond with the kids where they were free to paddle their own dinghy! Sean never stops working and looking out for us/children.

For the kids there were 3 play areas equipped with toys 2 indoor (one with bouncy castle) and the indoor equipped with table tennis and pool for the older kids (and parents) with a great tree house outside, but the kids spent most of the time feeding and 'minding' the animals as well as chasing Sean around the place. The children became mini-farmers and took on responsibilities with great aplomb and pride. The farm was safe and they were really able to extend their boundaries. Good weather helped with an evening barbecue in the court yard.

The children ate and slept great due to their earnest days of work and play in the fresh air.

We look forward to getting back.

Having travelled throughout Ireland and witnessed Irish hospitality wherever we went the one place that tops everything is Belan lodge. Sean works tirelessly to make you feel at home and this is reflected in the high standards of the rooms and decor. From the second we arrived we were inspired at the workmanship that has gone into the accommodation and the the working farm which Sean manages to an extremely high standard. I had the opportunity to meet some amazing people who also had a high regard for Sean and his family, I truely family orientated place to stay and I will no doubt be returning with my children and grandchildren who will love the activities that Belan lodge has to offer. Renata went out of her way to make us tea and coffee and nothing was too much trouble for her, never stopping throughout the night making sure that the bouncy castle was washed and the plants were watered. Sean and his family are wonderful people and this is reflected in the friendly and family way that they run Belan lodge.
we can't sing your praises enough Sean, thank you so much for a wonderful stay,
