I've just returned from Be Live Saidia and we (myself, husband n 6-year-old boy) had a truly wonderful time. Our only complaint: the lack of politeness of some guests, and I'm ashamed to say that some of the rude ones were fellow Portuguese.
The hotel is excellent, clean, large rooms, several restaurants, food is diverse, abundant and of good quality. If you're too picky and don't want to try local food, there's always pizza, pasta, paella, grilled fish and meat (strongly recommend the lamb and picanha), fresh fruit, pastries and ice-cream. But, please, keep an open mind and try Moroccan food, it IS very good. We just didn't like the Asian Restaurant, but that's just us.
The local wine (Toulal Prestige) is very good, I favoured the Rosé but the red and white are very good, too. Still and sparkling mineral water is always available (some1 here complained that the minibar, was empty...all you had to do was ask for a couple of bottles), the mojitos r good, too. Gin, rhum, whiskey and beer aren't all that good, but I was fine with that, wasn't there to get wasted.
All rooms have a safe, it's free and easy to use, you make your own code. If you find it closed ask for some1 to come and open it, you may have to insist as communication between reception and other areas isn't always perfect.
People are friendly and work hard, but communication isn't always easy, most speak either French or Spanish, some English, few Portuguese and many only Arabic
SPA is very expensive, more expensive than the ones in the Algarve, so we didn't try it. Beach and pools are great, always with lifeguards. You can sail and kayak for free, but must pay for the camel ride.
Animation was quite amatourish, but they tried soooo hard, it's just that some of them should not be dancing...they were so bad it was actually funny. But a couple of the girls were very good, and there was a French-Moroccan kid (Saber, I think his name was) who was very cute, a great and funny dancer and wonderful with the younger kids (and very popular with teenage girls ;-)
Renting a car is next to impossible, excursions r very expensive, but if you'r the adventurous type you can share a "Grand Taxi" from Saidia to Oujda (60km away, great kashbah/souk, perfect for souvenir- shopping) at 2 euros per person, but be prepared to skeeze in with the natives, they take 6 people per taxi, if you don't want to share it will cost you 14 to 20 euros per trip. It's perfectly safe to leave the hotel, policeman r everywhere and they respect tourists, nothing like Tunisia where they touch and harrass you.
The Marina doesn't have much yet, few shops are open, restaurants r expensive and not worth it (not with the great food at the hotel)
All in all, we had a great time, it was cheap (1400 euros for 2 adults+child, all-inclusive) and I strongly reccomend it!

It could be a good beach holiday hotel, it could... But it is not, or at least, not for everybody. If you want cheap beach vacations, it can be a good bet, but if you are used to average quality, you better think twice.
Beach is very good, pools also, but service is very, very, very poor, too much for a five star hotel, to which I would only give it 3 stars.

A tip for Portuguese travelers: Travel agent «Viajar» keeps a portuguese guide there all week, and he seems to be very helpful. Much better than the «Travelplan» guides, if we can call them guides, only speaking spanish and never there when you really need!!

ROOMS

Good. Well furnished, modern, big enough and practical. But construction leave lots of problems behind (I added photos...). Cleaning is far from being average. Some days the room was cleaned at 16h00 or latter. And it was always something missing (towels, toillet paper, tissues, etc...). I started to claim at reception and it worked, our room was cleaned around 14h00, earlier than average of our fellow travelers..
When we arrived at 15h00 the room which was given to us was not cleaned .
I can understand this, but why did they sent us to the room?
They could ask us to wait for a while.
But no, they sent us to the room to us to find out it was as the previous guests left it!!!

True and false (or ????) about Be Live Saïdia Rooms

• Bath -True
• Cots available -True
• Air conditioning -True
• Amenities ????
• Blackout curtains -True
• Central heating ????
• Desk -True
• Double bed 1,35x1,90m -True
• Electronic keys - True. They gave me and my husband 2 keys. But one was stolen from inside the room where we left it to keep the air conditioning working. We reported at reception, asked to speak with the manager, and they pretended not to understand what I explained in English, French and Spanish... I presented a formal claim at the customer relations at the web site and I am still waiting for an answer. As you can imagine we could not feel safe anymore, anyone could enter the room do anything and no one bother to give us an explanation or an apologize.
• Electronic safe deposit box and Laptop-size safe - True. But it does not work. When we call for maintenance, the man did not speak English or a proper French and it was impossible for understand how to use it (there are no written instructions in the room or anywhere...). The «technical» also showed that they have a code which can break yours easily, so we decided to keep values in the bags with the lockers on.

• Magnifying mirror -True
• Minibar: bottle of water on arrival - false. The Minibar was there, but the water... never came!

SERVICES

Well, the personal has lack of experience or formation, I do not now. In general most of them do not speak or understand English, some understand French and speak it a litle, and some understand and speak a few words of Spanish... (The main number of tourists there and I must say they are very lively and bit noisy. But being portuguese, I am used to it and does not bother me)
You have to reserve the a la carte restaurants: The Asian and the Mediterranean. You can go to each one just one time (and believe me, it is enough, as quality of food and service is not better than the Safraan Buffet and in this one you can really choose. The a la carte have very, very little menus. At the Asian one you only choose desert!

SIGHTSEEING

We have just went to OUJDA. Tipical, very poor with no historical or architectural points of interest. But it was the only trip available, soo... And if you like to get to know other cultures (and to thank God for the place you were born... Especially if are a female...), it is worthwhile. And it is very safe, as the travel agent keeps the group surrounded by body guards.

Room Tip: Even Rooms of Block 2 or Block 3 are more quiet.

Well, we knew it was a new hotel , with only some weeks , so we were little bit afraid of what we could find ( ( missing lamps, non working equipments , etc ) but it was not true ... everything went well , service is good, employes are nice , food is selfservice but with quality , visual but typical muslim ... no pork meat, lots of lamb and ckicken with spcies ... Pool is good ( some small squares were jumping out due to the glue ) but globally it was a srorise . 5 Stars week , pool , beach , food , reading , open bar, night shows and .... slleeping . Ah , we can rent a camel for a ride in the beach !! nice and clean , there is a device ( nappy) to avoid having dirt on the beach ...
