“beautiful resort!”
Reviewed July 11, 2014

This was my first trip to Roatan, and it was wonderful! The Infinity Bay Resort was the perfect choice. We had a 3 bedroom suite, and it was very spacious. The staff was so helpful and friendly throughout our stay. There are numerous beach side restaurants and bars within walking distance of the resort. No one in our group had any issues with sand fleas or mosquitoes, and I noticed the staff at Infinity Bay raking the sand in the evening to help prevent bug issues.

Our only negative experience took place at the beach bar and restaurant. Life does move at a slower pace in Honduras, which is a welcome change! However, during one of our visits, the wait time was a little ridiculous. We had to ask for condiments from 3 different people over a span of 20 minutes before any were actually given to us. Other than that the service was great.

If you do plan on bringing US Dollars with you, try to have small bills! As the day goes on, sometimes the change for $20 bills runs out. Overall, a fabulous trip and a great resort!

I just returned from a week long stay at Infinity Bay and it exceeded my expectations. It's the social place to be on West Bay Beach area and as a single traveler I had no problems meeting people during the day. The residents who live there are very helpful and friendly and had great suggestions on things to do. The staff go out of their way to ensure that you are well taken care of and I was always met with a smile and helpful attitude. I was fortunate to be there for 4th of July and was pleasantly surprised that they put on an amazing fireworks display which rivals some that I've seen in the US. The beach is steps away from the pool and one can go out and snorkel or dive directly from the beach. Infinity also has kayaks which are free to use and paddling around the beach area.

The guest room I was in (604) was well taken care of and very clean. There is also strong internet connection which each apartment having their own router. It made it very easy to stay connected for work while I was on the island.

Overall, I can't say enough good things about my stay in Roatan and Infinity was a big part of that. I'm already plotting my next visit to the island!

Room Tip: I'm not sure if there is a bad room here. My room (604) was fantastic. I booked via Expedia but...

Wow - "a great week in paradise" that really is the icing on the cake for all the hours the entire resort team dedicates to their work. The fireworks were amazing and its become an Infinity tradition on both July 4th and New Years Eve....so glad you enjoyed them!

This is our sixth year in a row that we spend a week at Infinity Bay. The accomodations are great, service is wonderful- which keeps us going back year after year! The snorkeling and diving right off the beach could be compared to swimming in an aquarium. We have watched Roatan grow over the years, yet Infinity Bay remains consistently great! So many things to do within walking distance including beach bars, restaurants, zip lines, etc. Boat taxi can take you to West End for an afternoon of shopping. Rick was very helpful in taking care of our needs. Gracie was great in organizing excursions, the palapa staff were always friendly. Our room was cleaned periodically. This is a very safe and relaxing place. We can't wait until next year!

Very new and well built hotel, the rooms vary from small to very large. We stayed in one of the smaller room and were very pleased. It came with all the amenities.

The water from the tap is normally filtered but their filtration system was out of service, so water was delivered to the room when needed!

The staff are very friendly and though some do not speak english are very helpful.

The resort has a big pool with lots of space to relax and have fun as well as a top tier dive center! If you want to dive this is the place to go!

Between the pool and the beach is a bar, the bar is generally well staffed but prices need some working. Prices are generally $1 more per drink than at other bars. Local beer was $4 and could be found for $3 or even $2 in some places. The service is excellent otherwise and no complaints were had!

Room Tip: Get the basic suite, some rooms come with a separate bedroom, that's not really needed as most t...

We just returned from Infinity Bay in Roatan. We loved the property! The location is towards the end of the popular beach strip, making it quieter than being in the center. Infinity Bay is a condo rental and owners group, with a main club house that has a well stocked, gift shop and main dining room for breakfast (we had the breakfast plan and the food was very good- omelet bar, beans, bacon, ham, fruits, breads, juices, cereals, oatmeal, coffee, tea).
The units all have granite-modern kitchens, nice bathrooms, closed door master room, pull out sofa beds, furnished patio with fans, flat screen TV, blender, toaster, microwave. Look for buildings 1-4 for best location. Borrow the pool towels to soak up the water from the shower- no shower doors in unit 401. Daily room cleaning.
The pool is an infinity pool that ends on the sand. Great for laps, kids end that is shallow, or swimming up to the bar stools. Comfy pool chaise lounges. No waiters at the pool, but they will deliver to the pool if you order at La Palapa.
There is a dive-snorkel shop that is a separate business just outside the main building. We rented snorkel gear for 1 person at $10.00+tax for one day (ends at closing of the shop) that included mask, snorkel & fins. No credit cards under $20.00. They rented dive gear and had all types of dive events.
The property even has a tank to wash underwater cameras- we used it.
The front desk staff is lovely (as were all waiters- waitresses) and all staff speaks fluent English.
There is a delicious bar- restaurant on the sand, on the property,La Palapa, which served an excellent blackened sea bass sandwich and cocktails; about $14. La Palapa also had excellent BBQ wings; the buffalo wings were standard. Waiter Swiss was a swift talking funny guy that entertained our 13 yr old son with jokes.
Wednesday is free family movie night at the Infinity Bay pool. Bring your bug spray. Actually, pack a citronella candle as bug candles were not available in the local stores. Tuesday night Banarama puts a free family movie with a water screen on the beach. You can order cocktails while watching a family movie on the sand or at the pool.
The property loans out free kayaks. Use them to explore the bay- bring a waterproof camera too. The property does not rent or sell pool toys, or volleyball nets. But if you bring the toys, you can use them in the pool or on the ocean. By the way, there was minimal difference from pool to ocean temperature and it was about 80F in both waters in late June. The ocean is also so calm that you cannot bring your surf boards- no surf- a good current at the end of the buoys. Bring your pool toys into the ocean.
Within a 5 minute walk is the West End shopping mall that has a pharmacy (pharmacists can prescribe & sell general medications without going to the doctor), wine bar, gift shop and convenience store to buy snacks, beer, wine, some sundries & get a sandwich. If you hire a taxi from the airport, you can stop at Eldwins Market in Coxen Hole for an American style grocery shopping. Bring a shopping bag to all markets, as there are no bags given to carry your items.
There is no gym nor spa on the property. They claim to be building a spa, but that has been in the works for over 2 years. I think the owners are not willing to pay for the build-out of a spa. No gym proposals were mentioned. But who works out on vacation?!
Buy Banana Donuts from the old man on the beach! They are delicious! 3 for $5, cash.
You will be accosted by all the trinket vendors on the beach. All of them negotiate on pricing.
Do not charter a boat for fishing with Norman or even use his water taxi. Norman is a thief and ripped us off and scared us when we used his water taxi. Norman parks his boat in front of Banarama and usually has life vests hanging from the boat Bimini-cover. Infinity Bay has a reputable and reliable water taxi and is worth the extra 50 cents.
We brought 3 fishing poles and tackle. There is a pier in front of the property, but you cannot fish from the pier, as you are inside a Marin Preserve area. The security guards and ranger will ask you to stop fishing or fine you. We did kayak beyond the buoys and fished outside the preserve area. All the fishing charters supply all the gear you need to fish. We did fish the flats with Captain Brooks, his boat name is Mr. Kirk. We had a great experience with him. The boat is noticeably painted with Mr. Kirk and parks near the pier at Infinity Bay. We paid $220.00 for 3 people for a half day- pricing varies and can be negotiated. But you need to pay in cash. Do not give deposits to beach vendors; hotel activities require a deposit and you can get your money back if something happens. Lobster season opens July 1st.
We bought an island tour with Waldy Molina of Sunshine State Island Tours (phone # 011-504-3289-2470). A great tour of the island including man groves, zip lining- all extra activities were a la carte pricing. But if you can, pass on eating at The Hole In The Wall on the tour; food was marginal in relation to high prices. But Waldy is flexible and will take you where you want to eat. We paid $120 + tip for 3 people- cash only- pricing is dependent on what-where you go.
We missed out on the dolphin excursion, as our son got sick and was attached to the bathroom. But we will have to return or go to the Bahamas for a dolphin trip.
Do rent paddle boards from Anita, Dave & Delanie at Paddle Sports & Tours. They have the paddle board rack in front of hotel La Sirena. +011-504-3169-3646- they are facebook too. We paid $20 per board for about 5 hours. Anita taught us how to jump and make a 360 turn and land on the board- fun. You can take your snorkel gear on the board- just get a board with the bands on it to hold your gear and not lose the board while snorkeling.
I will review restaurants in the restaurant area of Trip Advisor. Basically we only had one bad meal, and that was at Arentinian Grill up the beach from the property- service was too slow and food was bland to awful. The owners and family were at the table next to us and were drunk and nasty; pass on Argentinian Grill. By the way, Roatan and all of Honduras are not allowed to sell alcohol on Sunday. The other place that had marginal food was Banarama- nothing wrong with the food, just on the blander side and similar to Apple Bees or Outback Steaks style of food; so pass and eat elsewhere. Do eat at Beachers, Las Rocas, Nice & Spicey, Celeste's, La Palapa, Lighthouse and all the other local restaurants. We eat almost anything except for beef, but you are on an island that imports the beef, so eat all the fish you can; most places served vegetarian dishes.
Bring bug spray, citronella candle, flashlight (power outages are almost daily; Infinity has a generator that takes about 2 minutes to kick on), and no fancy clothes- even the finest dining is still golf club casual- casual dining is really casual: shorts, flip flops, beach cover-ups, sundresses.
We took the property shuttle, free service, but tipped generously. You must alert the property of your arrival into RTB and then you depart for RTB 2 hours ahead, like the USA.
No need to exchange USD for Lempiras; everyone takes USD and most places take Visa or MasterCard; we did not see any AmEx or Discover symbols.
I would return to Infinity Bay and just might! Roatan was a perfect family vacation with a lot of activities or just time to chill on the beach. For the honeymooners, you can sneak away or join the festive atmosphere.

Room Tip: Look for rooms in buildings 1-4 or the 4 closest buildings to the sand. Room 401, ground floor, was...
