My husband, son (10) and I just returned from spending a week at Infinity Bay (3/22 - 3/29). Check in was simple and we expected our room not to be ready since we arrived before 3pm. We always pack bathing suits and sunscreen in carry-ons so this was no problem. They gave us drink tickets for our wait and we had lunch and swam until our room was ready.

The room (2 bed/2 bath OV) was one of the nicest we have stayed in the Caribbean. It was very roomy, quiet, comfortable and clean. No complaints. The pool and beach were great. Excellent snorkeling right off the shore. It was so nice to walk down the beach for breakfast, lunch or dinner, have a table on the sand and under the stars and enjoy a nice meal. It was very safe and the people were very kind wherever we went. Water was safe to drink.

We are already planning our return trip. My only reasons for not rating this as excellent is the bathroom at the pool hardly worked and we stopped using it as it was pretty gross. The second is trying to find pool chairs was very difficult. People love to claim them and by 7am they're gone. Lots of chairs with towels and no people. One morning we thought we would "join the crowd" and my husband got us a table. We went to breakfast, came back and someone threw our towels on the ground and took over the table. Seriously, we were back by 9:00 and were going to use the seats. But, it wasn't worth the argument. If I was an owner here and couldn't get a seat I would be ticked. In fact, this is one reason I wouldn't buy a condo here.

All that being said, we were very happy at Infinity Bay and our return in highly likely. We loved Roatan!

My son loved the parasailing and we all loved Gumbalimba Park.

Dear LCookCincinnati,

Thank you very much for choosing Infinity Bay and your time yo submit a review...greatly appreciated!

So glad you enjoyed our amazing location - actually the best in West Bay right in front of the reef....just waiting for you to explore! Our accommodations are generally quite expansive with plenty of room to spread out and enjoy - wonderful to hear you were very comfortable. Please accept our apologies for the frustrations you experienced on the beach - let us reserve a section for you each morning on your next trip. Just let me know and we will make that happen.

Look forward to your next adventure back to IB!

We just returned yesterday from our wonderful trip to Roatan. Pros: great to have a robust breakfast included (eggs made to order by the omelette chef), best reef for snorkeling (actually better than our snorkel trip), great restaurants up and down the beach, upscale finishes, full kitchen, felt very safe, POOL!, pretty grounds, free transport to and from airport, front desk very accommodating and professional, dock has water taxi.

Cons: cleaning was a little sketchy (they missed things and didn't come one day), towels had seen better days, breakfast disorganized (had to grab things from other tables every day), Las Palapas bar and restaurant not as fast or good value as others on beach, furniture odor off- putting (island musty), no regular teabags (so bring you own).

Overall, I would still pick infinity bay for location and overall experience.

Our best activities (see other reviews) : Steel pan alley music experience, Pigeon Key with Bay Island Adventures, South Shore zip lining

Best restaurants(see other reviews): Thirsty Turtle Bar and Grill, the Argentinian (west bay), Sunset Grill (west end)

Roatan overall: gorgeous water and beaches, laid back, good prices, rustic still in a lot of ways, no shopping to speak of (if that is important to you) except for Karma jewelry (which is lovely and high quality), you really only need bathing suits, tee shirts and sandals here to go anywhere, lobster every night (quality varies).

Tip: don't take water taxi after dark as the prices go way up (you have no choice but to pay), boats don't use lights which was a little terrifying.

Dear 5921,

Thank you for taking the time to submit a review and for choosing Infinity Bay - we do realize you have many choices when picking a resort for your family. The breakfast is definitely robust with rotating choices - great way to start your day! Thank your for your other comments which will be discussed with the management team. Infinity Bay actually has our own boat which serves our guests in the evening and typically does its last pick up in the West End at 930PM.

We are hopeful that you will return for another adventure!

Rick

We are repeat guests at Infinity Bay. Our stay was from 3/22/-29. We just returned last night. We rented from the same owner who is a pleasure to work with. The only reason I rated it excellent is because of the staff. Elda, Swiss, and Ziggy made us laugh!!! BTW Rick, Elda needs to be back behind the bar, she is always smiling unlike the other girl who is back there now. The major turn offs this time were the front desk asking for my passport number? I am very uncomfortable doing this. Who is to say this info will remain safe? Who is to say a fake will not be made? Really UNACCEPTABLE. The US embassy will advise you against giving out that information unless it is an immigration officer asking. Second turnoff was the wristbands that were " required" to be worn even if you rented from an owner. This was not the case last year. Another issue ( no fault of the resort) is parents not watching their kids. It was almost IMPOSSIBLE to relax by the pool. I finally lost it one day and went after a parent. I love this resort, not sure if we will return :( We also had some questionable bar tabs. I only signed for one lunch, but had several bar charges that totaled more than $100.00. How does this happen if you do not sign? I actually watched a girl give the bartender's THREE different room numbers? Rick, you need to get a handle on this.

Dear MichiganBmorrison,

Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review and we appreciate the excellent rating you afforded us. The passport documentation at check-in is actually required by Honduran law...they actually come out throughout the year to ensure the logbook is in compliance. If this was not required by the government we would have no interest in this procedure. Wristbands are an important element to the safety and security of the resort. All the resorts in Roatan use the ID wristbands but if you really don't want to wear it - simply take it off and keep it in your pocket....no worries! Thanks for your other comments and suggestions as they will be reviewed. Also, thank you for the kudos to the staff.

Hope you return!

Im a little late getting this review in, but here goes. My wife and I were at this resort on feb 10 for 2 weeks and enjoyed every min. The staff in all areas were outstanding. Elder (grounds person)who got coconuts for me for my morning drink. im missing it already..lol..wait staff Jamie, Darlin, the cook Harlan great meals...bar staff puma, swiss, iggy, steve mcqueen...momma says hi and misses you guys. I also want to send out a special thanks to Captain Alex and first mate Kevin who took us on a couple of wonderful sailing trips and snorkling, I got lots of wonderful underwater pics. I want to thank Rick the manager for his unending efforts to make everyone feel like family at this resort. We had a wonderful time at your resort Rick and what a treat it was to be able to drink the tap water. I loved that. The grounds were always kept clean and beautiful. The beach goes without saying, best beach in the area. Our room was far better than i could hope for. A place I could call home. Thanks Rick to all the good memories and all the staff that made it enjoyable. Keep up the good work. If I could find any thing that bothered us it was that sometimes the beach bar was hard to get drinks in a timely manner. It could use some improvement, but was still ok. We found the food was better at the beach bar than the buffet sometimes(variety wise). We did eat most of the time in the buffet for breakfast and dinner but found the beach bar good for lunch...its all good to me though..hehehe. To all the Bar Staff at the beach..momma sends her love..lol.. keep up the good work.

We love Infinity Bay - we came back for a 2nd year March 10th-17th. We came AI through Sunwing. The proximity of the reef, relaxed feel and genuine warmth from the staff is what brings us back.

The servers are amazing. Yes, it takes a while at the bar and the restaurant but it doesn't bother us. The staff are incredibly friendly, I like chatting with everyone hanging out while I wait. We like the buffet as well, healthy, fresh food every day. We appreciated the Exec Chef Idra accommodating our daughter with life threatening nut allergies. The Palapa Bar is a long wait but again, didn't bother us, we were chatting and enjoying ourselves. The slow pace is ok by us.

The rooms are fantastic. The cleaning is often late in the day (as they handle checkouts early) but again, didn't bother us. The staff were so nice.

It is busy on the beach on cruise ship days, which I don't like but I love that the reef is at my feet. I can snorkel all day if I want to...and did. My teenagers love the busyness.

The only advice I could give is to get more umbrellas as people were reserving chairs early just to stay in the shade. It could be solved with more shade.

The pluses of the resort well outweigh the small niggles. It works for our family!

Thanks to all the staff for making it a fantastic vacation for us.

Room Tip: Lower floors are easier to manage!!

February in Roatan at Infinity Bay Spa and Beach Resort was everything we could ask for! Our condo was beautiful, an upper floor condo overlooking the pool. The staff is very friendly and very willing to help and serve in every way! We felt like old friends who just belonged there. The grounds are gorgeous and the beach, pool and snorkeling were all amazing. No complaints at all. We will be back. Thank you!

Awesome snorkelling just off the beach. Great food and accommodation.
Thanks Marlon and Brady for making our holiday memorable.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom, two bath. The room had a full kitchen. We had a 9 person catered dinner on the balcony with lots of space to spare. The wait and kitchen staff surpass our expectations!
