On a recent trip to Roatan we stopped into Lala & purchased a beautiful painting, by far the best "souvenir" from our trip :) It was hard to pick just one, the gallery is filled with beautiful items. he owner was a sweetheart & very knowledgeable, if you're near the West Bay definitely check out the shop!

We were trapped in a perpetual rainy week and were delighted to go into LALA and discover the art there. There is a great representation of many local artists. We purchased a picture by a local artist and we are very proud to own it. The owner of the gallery was very helpful in providing support information for us after the sale.

LALA is a wonderful little shop filled with a variety of works from Mexico and Latin America. The prices are more than reasonable, and purchases are sure to enrich the lives of the artists. I recommend it highly.

LaLa was a fantastic surprise to us. Yes, the art work, weaving, and pottery at LaLa are incredibly beautiful, but the very best thing about this store is the care that owner Layle puts into making sure each piece is sustainably made and socially conscientious. I have never felt better about buying gifts for folks back home. Layle travels personally to the villages where each piece is made, and makes sure the proceeds go directly to the artists, many of whom are the female breadwinners and caregivers of their households. So, a patron of this store is not just supporting the arts but also Central American culture, family, and small-village economy. I can not say enough about how knowledgeable Layle is - not only is she personally familiar with each piece and its origin, but there are small informational exhibits throughout the store that are extremely enlightening. I highly recommend that you make this your one-stop place if you are trying to shop on Roatan.

We had a nice lunch at "Nice and Spicy" next door and the server mentioned the art gallery. After lunch we poked our heads in and were transported to a new cultural world of wonderful art and craftsmanship. This place is tops for the conscientious consumer with aesthetic senses. Prices were a bargain, especially considering the quality of goods and efforts that go into making and procuring them.
