Great service. Great wine selection. Great food. It was a special night as it was my girlfriends birthday. I had emailed the restaurant a few days prior and asked if it was possible they could bake a cake and surprise her when it came time for desert. I received a quick reply and sure enough the night of dinner they came out with the birthday cake and sang happy birthday.

The food was absolutely fantastic and the wine choices were pretty good as well.

Next time in West Bay, I will be dining here again without a doubt.

Unlike most of the restaurants in West Bay, dining at Vintage Pearl is exclusive. They serve pre-fix three course dinner from $32 to $40, before tax. They offer soup or salad as the first course, the soup was quite salty and the salad was very good. There were four choices for the main course, we had the Wahoo and lobster, both were decent, but not spectacular. We had banana flan and apple bread pudding for desserts, they were both very good. Overall the meal was enjoyable, but not spectacular. I could get a better meal in the SF bay area for the same price. I don't think the quality of the dinner justify for the price. Unless you have to eat at some place exclusive during your trip, skip this place.

Eva,

I can think of more than a dozen places in the touristy town of Coeur d Alene Idaho where I am from that could rival the Vintage Pearl... 32 to 40 dollars for a three course meal WITH tax is still a good price in Coeur d Alene... I would suggest that your prices in San Francisco would change substantially if we were to add 110% import taxes on the liquor, 15% tax on your food, .75 cents per pound shipping and .42 cents per KWH for electricity. I say this not to offend you or any guest that comes to our beautiful island, but it is important to understand where many of a businesses costs are coming from when you visit a third world country and come to one of the only places with AC on the beach to drink a bottle of wine imported from over 3000 miles away. If you don't have a 1500 per month AC bill because your serving from a palapa then you don't need to mark up the food to recover the costs as the vast majority of restaurants here in Roatan do.

I will be the first to say that the Vintage Pearl is not the cheapest place on the beach. It ranks among the more expensive...however I do believe that you get exactly what you pay for.... Great service, ambiance and excellent meals.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience at the restaurant. I am very happy you enjoyed your meals and service. I would suggest the Thirsty Turtle Bar and Grill next door for the experience you were looking for. They are a toes in the sand and quite a bit more in line price wise with other similar establishments on the beach:)

Sincerely,
Louis

Thank you for your recommendation. We work very hard on our wine selection and are very happy you were able to select the wine, beer or liquor that you need. It is somewhat difficult to do and the taxes are crazy on importing these from around the world.

Our no shoes policy for us on a laid back caribbean island is fantastic... keeps the super fine sand out and adds ambiance to our location... it can offend some guests and we would suggest the Thirsty Turtle bar and grill for those looking to keep their shoes on next door:)

Thank you again for your review and we look forward to seeing you again on your next vacation:)
Sincerely,
Louis

No Shoes allowed. How cute is that. When we got there they asked us to remove our shoes. Basically allthe restaurants on the water are like that. This place has a fixed menu and the food was wonderful. We ate there our first night in Roatan and it was a great start to an amazing trip.
