Our shore excursion on Feb 19th, 2019 to Tabyana Beach was a mixture of negatives and positives.

On a very positive note, Tabyana Beach is beautiful and there is plenty of security to watch your valuables while you are swimming.

The BBQ included in our tour was excellent as was the Honduran beer ($3 USD). Coke was also $3 USD.

There were no language barriers as everyone spoke good English.

The bathrooms were clean and there were no charges for their use.

If you are interested in snorkeling, then guides (Dillon) are available to take you to the best spots. Dillon, himself does not charge a fee but works on tips only!

Our enjoyment of the beach was somewhat tempered by the transportation to and from the beach.

By our estimate, we figured we lost about 1.5 to 2 hours of our 6.5 hour tour due to road construction, which was not mentioned online by the tour operator, Norwegian Cruise Lines.

Upon boarding our ship, we received our tickets where it was mentioned but somewhat downplayed.

Out of the 6.5 hours, we experienced approximately 2 hours of beach time as it became apparent to us that catching an early bus (2 pm) back to the ship was imperative due to waiting times involved in the road construction. Also, the buses will not depart exactly on time until they are full, another consideration.

The buses departed every half hour starting at 1 pm with the last bus leaving at 4 pm. Our ship was due to depart at 5 pm.

Overall, our group was disappointed with this tour to Tabyana Beach due to the road construction and in good conscience cannot recommend it at this time. Hopefully, other members will be able to update us regarding road construction.

A gated camp like atmosphere with excellent live music and home made picnic type food. Included was chairs, food, lemonade, entertainment and this wonderful beach.
The vendors need to stay by the water line, the resort is private with excellent private security and lockers if you so desire.
This place is great and the snorkeling was spectacular. I did a private guided snorkel trip by Ron from the resort next door where he led me to some of the most interesting parts on the reef. The burgers, chicken and hotdogs were great and the live group was amazing. I will upload a high res video to youtube in the next week or so but have uploaded a few screen grabs.
I spoke with others back on the ship that went to another resort on this beach and they too had a wonderful time.
There was some road construction which was almost compete, we were only delayed a few minutes. (March 5th 2019) The scenic trip from Port to Beach took about 30 minutes.
WE REALLY ENJOYED this place!

We went snorkeling there and the coral was beautiful and the fish were cool too. The beach staff was awesome. They worked hard to make our day as fun as possible. They even towed us out to the best snorkeling spots with kayaks then dove in with us. There was no charge for this but tips are appreciated.

We visited last week and found it to be one of the best in the Caribbean. The sand was beautiful. Would definitely visit there again.
