A hotel that left behind by a travelers, a very rustic place with empty thing inside. the service is very rediculous, all staff is very rude..its big JOKE HOTEL. We where there during winter for a stop over and we did not even finish our half day.
Where do I start? As seasoned travelers we booked a nights stopover in Oman by the border before travelling back home to the UAE. The pictures as advertised showed a rustic and wonderful place, a break from the usual multitude of hotel chains. On arrival we had a funny feeling as we had to go across unmade roads to gain access to the hotel, which had around 40 Filipino's sitting outside the main door.
No concierge or luggage help (As advertised) but we thought hey lets investigate and see. The desk clerk couldn't unlock the computer to view our booking so I had to show on my phone and duly paid. I must say the room was huge but no tv working (As advertised) We ventured down to explore but did not find any of the following (As advertised - you see the theme here!)
Snack bar
Restaurant (à la carte)
Bar
BBQ facilities
Garden
Indoor pool
Darts
Table tennis
Billiards
Games room
Fitness centre
Concierge service
Shops (on site)
The restaurant has no kitchen and you have to order from local places to deliver to the hotel.
The pool attendant was charging 10 AED for you to use the pool.
The snack bar only sold Filipino food which was kept in open containers
The room was nice and spacious but the TV didn't work.
My wife and I are hardened travelers, more explorers but even we couldn't spend the night here as it wouldn't be fair to the kids.
We will be seeking a refund and express that unless you like to live on pot noodles and biscuits and don't mind your own company in a dirty hotel then we advise to stay away from here....at all costs.
This is more of a grand hotel that's fallen into disrepair and now used as a hostel for working migrants.
Dirty sink..dirty bowl.. no tissue in the cr..rude staff..prostitutions all over the place..no pool ..no restaurant only canteen..left over food to serve at the canteen.. poor wifi signal..unsecured room ..
it was late night when we checked in... it was unplanned due to travel mishap.... we really had a hard time to locate the hotel the fact that it's late and dark out there (no lights on the entrance, felt like i was in a horror movie)... the receptionist (Egyptian, i think) was such a cocky racist; he's not acommodating, made some remarks that really pissed me off and i shot back at him (first time for me to get mad at a receptionist because most of them are warm and friendly)..then he lie lowed a bit and act politely...our room was huge but dimly lighted and doors was made of steel; i felt like i was a prisoner in Azkaban =D.... i was so shocked when when i woke up the next day i felt like i was in a different place... the place was so nice, surrounded by trees, mountains and birds resting on the window; it was beautiful and relaxing....but then we can't use the pool because its dirty. We ordered food for breakfast , went out to explore Buraimi and Sohar; and when we came back late night those plates we used for breakfast to our disappointment are still there; i guess nobody dared to clean our room. There's great potential for Mahadha if managed well, for it has a unique architecture, great location and tranquil environment....
The hotel itself is just ok for budget traveller BUT reception staff and the Egyptian manager shouts at the guests. If he wants to say something, he can say it in a diplomatic way.I will never recommend this property. Terrible experience. Staff are not accommodating at all. Guests who are staying in their property who are on "change visa status" are treated badly. They should not treat those people in a way that they shout at them. End of the day you get profit from them so they are customers. Kudos for the British Manager (good example for the rest of the team).
