“Perfect Camping”

Last week we spent Mon - Fri at the Dandelion pitch of Coastal Wood. It was so out of the ordinary! The pitches are hugely spacious, you basically have your own meadow which includes a dining shelter along with fire pit. Toilet / shower facilities are clean clean (not just clean!) and there is even a little shop where you can buy some basics, use the freezer or borrow games and wellies. The lovely hosts have thought of everything, you have an axe (in a locked box) if you fancy chopping your own kindling, a popcorn maker for the campfire, the dining shelter comes complete with shelves and washing up bowl too. There is a little play park for kiddies, a dog run and a wood! In addition to alllll of this, you're close to some gorgeous blue flag beaches!

It's so quiet and peaceful with lots of little touches to make your camping experience perfect. I cannot recommend this site enough!

Thank you for your lovely review of Dandelion Pitch.
It is great to know that you had a lovely camping experience at 'Coastal Wood'. We are so pleased you loved the pitch with its canvas shelter, own campfire and picnic bench. Making popcorn and toasting marshmallows are our favourite things to do in the evenings around a campfire. Brilliant childhood memories!
With ten blue flag beaches all within ten miles, there is plenty of choice for those sunny days.
We look forward to seeing you again in the future.
Kindest regards,
Lee and Abi

“Dandelion Dream - beautiful campsite in beautiful location.”
Reviewed September 2, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Camping was never so good as this gem of a campsite in the most beautiful Pembrokeshire countryside and coast. Dandelion pitch was a bit of a misnomer as I didn't spot one dandelion on the carefully mowed lawn we pitched in. Spacious pitch? There were only TWO in our field and one more in the adjacent. The covered kitchen area - one to each pitch- was extremely handy if a little too enclosed for the gorgeous weather we were lucky enough to experience. The toilet and shower were like something out of a good hotel, the little shop full of handy things people forget to bring; some of these just there to borrow and return and a freezer full of inexpensive delicious home cooked meals. Great for kids, great for dogs, could go on and on but suffice it to say, on fifteen years of camping I haven't found a better site.

“Unparalleled camping experience”
Reviewed September 5, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Unbelievable camp site. Not being a fan of camping after too many years of rain and dirty showers, my 'will to camp' has been restored. The owners have thought of absolutely everything. When we arrived we were greeted by Lee who showed us to our huge pitch. One of only 3 on the site. Complete with shelter, fire pit and a meadow we soon discovered our own wheelbarrow to fetch firewood. That, amongst other things, like our own recycling bins, a watertight tool kit with axe, candles and playing cards. The table under the shelter was simply decorated with a lantern (candles provided) and solar powered fairy lights above. No worries if you make it to the spotlessly clean washing up area without your cloth or washing up liquid - because emergency supplies are there for you.
The single, wooden shower room had a sauna like feel and was so clean with plenty of hooks and hot water. A separate toilet offered luxury paper, a radio and a basket of books for both adult and toddlers.
A short walk from our field was a meadow for wandering. At the end was a wonderful countryside view and a rope swing. We wandered back, leaving the boys and the wheelbarrow to play.
On the first night we had fish and chips on the nearby stony beach. The owners offered suggestions on local places to eat (driving distance). We opted to shop at the local Co-op (about a 15 min drive - map provided) for the following two nights. Food was cooked over the open fire with shelter. It was perfect.
Nevermind if your teenagers drain the car battery charging their mobile phones. Lee was on hand with jump leads.
Whilst we sorted the car, the kids wandered down to the grassed play area, complete with toddler toy houses and carts. They enjoyed a game of giant chess, then made their way to the un-manned shop. For the things you run out of like firelighters and marshmallows for toasting on the open fire. We left a note in the honesty box and paid the next day. The shop also had comfy sofas for those inclement days when a tent isn't possible and a game of cards or a quiet read somewhere warm and dry would be a God-send.
In all, it was the best camp site I've ever stayed at - and I come from New Zealand. I hesitate to recommend it - only because I want to make sure we can come again next year. Such a lovely feel to the place and the owners were genuinely nice people. And gracious about us breaking the wheelbarrow (don't ask).

“Secluded,peaceful and unique campsite”
Reviewed August 16, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

After searching online for a UK camping location this year, we stumbled upon the site for Coastal Wood Holidays. We were intrigued by what was on offer as it sounded very secluded and unique and when we arrived that is exactly what we got!!

On arrival we drove straight to our pitch, called Dandelion, which was secluded yet close to all amenities. We had our own personal canvas shelter with a picnic bench, table, water carrier and a box of essentials (lighter, tea lights, Axe for kindling).
We quickly pitched up, eager to explore the campsite! Lee popped up to see us and told us all about the site, especially the rope swing in the lower meadow, which we quickly went to play on!
There is a park which has swings, a slide, large floor chess/draughts board, sandpit and much more. There is a shop with has a wide range of items that you may need, including fresh eggs from the chickens on the site. The chickens were wonderful, always popping up to our pitch to hang out with us! There is also a washing machine and tumble dryer, which came in handy after we built our own fire and toasted marshmallows, which got a bit stinky and sticky!
There is an area where you can collect firewood as well as a washing up area, shower room and toilet.
As there are only 3 pitches it feels very personal and not commercialised or overcrowded. I was overwhelmed by the amount of love and attention to detail had gone in to this site, to ensure campers have an amazing experience.
I would strongly recommend that you take the time at night to stare up at the sky as it is truly breath taking to see all of the stars and I was lucky enough to see a shooting star!

We are already planning our return next year!

Thank you Lee and Abi for a wonderful family holiday!xx

Thank you for your really great review of our camping pitches. It's so pleasing to read your kind words and we love knowing that you had a lovely time camping here ..... especially when you enjoyed toasting marshmallows, having cosy campfires and stargazing :)
For us, having only three pitches spread over two meadows means everyone can hopefully enjoy the outdoors and the facilities we offer.
We very much hope to see you all again.

All the very best,

Lee and Abi
