Good selection of well cooked food and a wide range of real ales. Very comfortable for social or business meals. You can have a quiet walk around the town afterwards to help the meal go down.

Have been to The Dun Cow two years ago on Boxing Day for lunch and vowed we would go back for an evening meal and we finally managed to get a table.
Visited Saturday night with friends for a meal. Arrived on time and quickly shown to our table. Chair was a bit rickety but acceptable. Drinks order taken and menus given. All four plumped for the Fillet Steaks (£21.95) and starters consisted of a pork dish, Shrimps and Bie in Breadcrumbs. All delighted with starters and good sized well cooked portions with bags of taste. Salad crisp and fresh. Brie portion was large and tasty. Steaks all cooked as we wasked and melted in the mouth, served with real chips and large battered Onion Rings - crispy batter and soft onions - perfect. Desserts consisted of Homemande Chocolate Sponge with white chocolate custard, Lemon & Ginger Cheesecake, Sticky Toffee Pudding and Chocolate fudge cake - all tasted great and decent size portions, total bill £145 including drinks. Service excellent even though the place was packed, will be back again.

I popped in after conducting a bit of business in the area in order to sit down and complete some paperwork. The beer was well kept and I ordered a starter as a snack to keep me going. I went for brie in breadcrumbs. This was served with salad and a cranberry sauce which I found really pleasing. I don't know if its still on the menu now as it was a while ago when I visited but if it is, give it a try.

The surroundings were quaint and very clean and the staff were very friendly. If I'm in the area again I will most certainly be dropping by the Dun Cow.

I had dinner here while stopping over with work. Very welcoming upon arrival, and was shown the specials board and menu. Very good selection of starters and main meals, and opted for lasagne, with chips and salad. Portion was big, and extremely tasty with a well presented, and fresh salad. Excellent value for money, don't be put off with moans of being expensive.... Well worth a visit.
