My family and I have been camping at this park for as long as I can remember.

Mikisew is a great family campground. Lots to do. Nature trails, Fishing, Hiking, Swimming.

Right on Eagle Lake. Short drive to the Narrows and South River.

Book early as the park fills up quickly.

See you there!

This is a great park. There are two very different areas to camp. One is the Hardwood campground - which occupies woods of yellow birch, maple and oak. The Pines campground is located in a red pine plantation. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. The Pines is quieter with less bugs and The Hardwoods area is mostly closer to two of the beaches and busier. The washrooms are kept very clean. Of course the park is busier on weekends and particulary long weekends but often during the week there are lots of great camp sites available. It is for the most part a peaceful family oriented park. There are some nice trails for hiking and a wonderful dog beach with a fenced off area for the dogs to run, this year they have set up a small dog obstacle course. All of the staff at this park are friendly and helpful. The Wardens are very proactive and do regular patrols so we felt very comfortable and secure here. This year they have had some great activities for children, including a visit from Muskoka Wildlife Centre. There is a convenience store located a 5 minute drive or approx. 30 minute walk from the park and the Town of South River is approx. a 10 minute drive and there you will find a grocery store, gas station, bank, restaurants and even a Swift Paddle shop. Also some nice restaurants 10 minutes south of South River in Sundridge.
