We summer vacation in the area (Long Point) so we try to get over to Dover at least once in the summer. The food and atmosphere are not upscale dining but it is decent pub food. The celery bread is always great and we usually split a perch platter and have never been disappointed. Until this past January. We happened to be in the area on a Monday and stopped in for lunch. Of course it's off season but the restaurant remains open so we did expect decent food.
The chicken wings were actually terrible and the other two main dishes were just okay. How do you screw up chicken wings? Hold them in the freezer until they are burned and then cook them until there's nothing left of them.
We will go back in the summer but definitely won't make the mistake of going to eat in the winter.
