“Bathrom needs redone”

I always love staying at the Comfort inn in Sturgeon falls , but I had not been for 12 month and was very disappointed when I saw the bathroom , it already needs some serious attention , the grout around all tiles surrounding the tub have either balck mold or what not sure , but needs either replacement or a good javex scrubs . Needs new pillow ! Pillows are all lumpy. The rest is ok , breakfast is great

From The moment my husband and i checked into this place the staff have all been friendly and very helpful. The rooms are very clean, and the beds are very comfort especially if you have back or neck pain. You will get a good night sleep. They have a workout area, nice pool. Not a big pool , but big enough to cool off in when its a hot summer day or cool fall or winter day.Sturgeon falls is very nice to visit and take great pictures. Fishing is good. The people speak both French and english. The motel does a great warm breakfast included with your stay. This is a great stop if you are on your way to Thunderbay or new Liskered or wherever you may be going in the area. .
They really make you feel like you are at home, they even have the internet. If you are looking for something clean and value for your money. Check this motel out.

Our experience with this hotel went from bad to worse. When my husband first made our reservation, he received our confirmation by email. This is the usual practice but with this reservation, we received the confirmation completely in French with no translation to English option.

Upon arrival at the hotel, we walked up to front reception to find it empty with a bell and a sign advising that we should ring the bell for service. When we rang the bell, a girl came out from the back dressed in a hoodie jacket, cropped pants, no name tag … very casual. Is this a new standard for the Comfort Inn? No uniform or professional attire, no name tag? This continued to be the case when the new receptionist came on that night and again the following day upon checkout. As for attitude of the front desk staff, it followed in line with how they were dressed, they were unfriendly, unhelpful, condescending and full of attitude.

We were in Sturgeon Falls for a funeral. When our family got together for dinner on the night of our arrival, during our conversation one of our family members mentioned that she was given a "grieving" rate. No one else in our family even knew there was a grieving rate. Later, my husband went down to front reception to request the same discount and the receptionist said "it's too late, you have to request the rate at the time of booking." How would we have known to request the rate if we didn't know about it???

As for the room, it was clean and had a king size bed. The room had a microwave and a small fridge. The room itself was fine but we did have one issue, the pillows, they were awful. There were several pillows on the bed but they were all small, square pillows, not full size pillows. Considering that you’re staying at a hotel to sleep, you would think that comfortable pillows would be important.

The hotel advertises free WiFi but good luck getting a stable connection that doesn't drop. No one in our group had any success.

The hotel does have a pool and we did use it. It was the standard Comfort Inn pool, no issues.

The hotel offers complimentary breakfast in the morning. I imagine if the hotel is not booked to capacity, there is plenty of room in the breakfast area but the hotel was full when we were there so there was no room in the breakfast area. I was very surprised that management did not open the conference room so people could eat in there, it was just down the hall. If a staff member was taking care of the breakfast area to ensure it was clean, garbage picked up and food items restocked, they did not do a good job. All three garbage cans were full and when we checked out three hours later, they were still full.

The lack of professionalism demonstrated by the front staff was enough to turn us off the Comfort Inn for the future. It was surprising because the housekeepers wore uniforms but the front receptionist wore a hoodie, a tee shirt with a graphic design on it and spandex leggings! I forgot to mention that while she was checking us in the phone rang and rather than asking the caller to "please hold" she kept us waiting while she had a personal conversation. We will definitely be following up on our very negative experience with Comfort Inn directly.

Our advice to you if you're travelling on Highway 17 in this area in the evening and need a hotel to spend the night, drive to North Bay and stay at the Hampton Inn, it's only another 30 minutes down the road.

Stayed at the hotel for Wedding , was as you would expect to find in a comfort inn . The housekeepers altered their cleaning schedule to let us have the room to dress before the afternoon wedding which was very nice. Kids swam in the pool which was clean but cool.(could of used some heat) Overall the hotel was a good stay... We would stay again .Breakfast was good and enough variety for all of us to eat. We walked to downtown just blocks away.

Stayed there during a business trip the second week of July . I was very pleased with my stay on that hotel. Ample rooms, good internet signal, the breakfast is great with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, juices, milk. coffee, yogurt, fruits, cereal, muffins, and anything else you might need for a breakfast. It is on the highway 17 however didn't feel any noise while sleeping. Air conditioner worked fine, my room was very clean and the pillows and beds pretty comfortable. Didn't use the swimming pool.

Pleasantly surprised to find this gem of a hotel in such a small little town in Northern Ontario. I was a little hesitant to book in such a small town but the hotel is only a few years old and is extremely clean with wonderfully helpful front desk clerks. Upon arriving in our room, our son sat down on the bed to 'test it out' and the one corner sunk way down low. I checked the legs of the bed and the one was getting very loose. we let the front desk know and they switched our room right away. Nice pool and good breakfast too. Would definetly stay at this location again if i am ever in the area.

We had 3 people in a room with 2 queen sized beds and a rollaway. Very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was very nice - included bacon/sausages and eggs, waffles you could make yourself, yogurt, pastries and a variety of juices. The pool wasn't very large but it was very clean and temperature was perfect.

I thought the price was a wee bit high for the area, but really like this chain of hotels. This location is an excellent choice!
