Luxury in The Gobi Desert

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Aug 26, 2019
My wife and I stayed in one of the Super Deluxe gers for three nights. It's spacious with an en-suite bathroom (including a rainfall shower). The air conditioner kept the room comfortable despite the day-time heat. The chef in the dining room provided delicious, well-presented meals--and plenty of it. If you're going to visit the Gobi Desert, you definitely want to stay here!!!

I wanted to be able to get my own bathroom while traveling and spending nights in the Gobi desert. As i researched availability, Gobi Nomad Lodge was the only one in the area with ensuite bathrooms. The Gobi Nomad Lodge went beyond my expectations and my wife and I spent wonderful nights in their deluxe ger. Besides a luxurious bathroom it was the only one with air conditioning. And you need it during the day time although evenings and mornings are cool in the desert. Food at their restaurant was also superb! The tour coordinator informed me food was "adequate" but I found it to be excellent in selections and in quantity. I am several pounds heavier after the trip.

Room tip: Reserve ensuite bathrooms and get the deluxe unit. Luxurious but decorated in a way that it brings you back to the time of Chinggis Khan.

The place is accordingly just like websites pictures. We stayed at superior deluxe for 2 nights and deluxe for 1 night. It is amazing. Everything including the service is very good. Soylo who is our trip planner have been kind and understanding to our time frame. DHAVA our tour guide is all kind and very informative and flexible to our needs. We were impressed and would come back again

Loved every single moment of this 2 days private trip! Our tour guide Sarah picked us up from hotel & flew with us to Gobi. Driver Tuugii was waiting at the airport. We stayed at the deluxe ger, so we had private toilet & hot shower, Provided L’occitane shower amenities. The gur & bathroom was very spacious - double bed, two couches, table, two tools & shoe rack. Bed & pillows were comfortable & everything was very clean. All the meals were served on the table & 3 course meal portion/amount was right, food was good. They don’t provide bottle of water during dinner, if u need water either buy it from restaurant or bring it from car with you! Provided a clean, comfortable 4 wheel vehicle, Tuugii is very experienced, well mannered & friendly driver, he made the bumpy road drive as smooth as possible. We visited all places according to the itinerary. Sarah & Tuuggii was never late or never rushed during the trip, they arranged horse ride, camel ride, Nomad family visit, we felt very comfortable with them. Thanks to both of them for making it a happy journey for us!

Excellent ger with wonderful heating and a private bathroom attached. Very clean although no daily cleaning took place and we were there for 4 nights so we chose to dispose of toilet waste paper (can't flush) ourselves. Very good food - better than expected in the desert. Lovely staff.

Room tip: You need a ger with air conditioning - minus degrees outside in October.

3 of us stayed at the Gobi Nomad Lodge for 3 nights on a recent tour of Mongolia organized by Nomadic Voyages from Ulaanbaatar. We loved this lodge on the edge of the Gobi Desert. I had a large ger with an ensuite to myself and my friends stayed in the adjacent ger, also with ensuite facilities. The bedding was very soft and comfortable. There was a reverse cycle air conditioner which was very efficient in the cold weather. The water in the shower was very hot and plentiful. We were able to catch up on our hand washing and use their clothes line which was a bonus. The lodge has a small museum which was most interesting and you can try on the wolf skin coats and fox fur hats! Also some traditional costumes to try on in brightly coloured materials. We had a fun photo shoot! We had a special dinner here as one of our party celebrated a birthday and there was cake and wine, and some singing and dancing! The staff sang some beautiful traditional songs which we really enjoyed. There is also a small gift shop here with some high quality items. Food was plentiful and fresh and the staff were very friendly. I highly recommend you consider a stay at this lovely lodge.
