“Spectacular views and a cozy cottage - what more could you want?”
Reviewed July 25, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We stayed in the honeymoon cottage with our 6 month old baby. I was worried that it would be cold, but the inside fire heats up the cottage nicely.

The views from the cottage are spectacular, you can see right up the mountains as the front of the cottage is basically made up by sliding glass doors, you feel as though you are in the orchard.

There are many paths to explore and bike on around the farm and the cottage is nicely decorated.

“Little piece of Heaven”
Reviewed June 28, 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We have just spent a magical weekend at Mont Rouge Cottages. We stayed in Cottage 3.
With it's fantastic views of the fruit trees and the mountain, to the sound of a babbling stream and frogs croaking below our cottage, we could not have asked for a better place to restore our souls! The cottage was cosy with it's fire place and we just loved the little balcony where we sat and ate our meals, just taking in the beauty of the farm and the Winterhoek mountain range. Unfortunately Marisha was away, so we did not get a chance to meet her. We are definitely planning to get back to Mont Rouge in the next few months. Absolutely loved it!

Thank you Marisha for spoiling us for the 2 days we stayed at your establishment. Wish we could have stayed for longer. Cottage is cosy with everything one needs for a good relaxing stay. Beds are comfortable and lighting the fireplace at night just added to the ambiance of the cottage. Keep up the good work:)

“Serene getaway with beautiful natural surroundings”
Reviewed May 25, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Our one night stay was way too short to appreciate the natural beauty of this place, so we will be back.
The spacious cottage 3 was well equipped for our self catering needs with the cute balcony where you can take in the mountain views with the stream below was perfect for our midweek break to get away from the city.
My wife enjoyed being on a working fruit farm and we got our hands on some sweet naartjies in the morning before our departure,
Cant wait to go back !

“Spacious, Beautiful, altogether pleasant.”

We especially appreciated the prompt response to SMS, emails, telephone calls to our queries and to announce arrival time. Beautiful views, nature, generous braai area under the milky way...

“acorns falling”
Reviewed April 10, 2016 for a stay in April 2016

6 of us stayed in cottage number 1, Marisha could not have been more helpful; unfortunately we went in acorn falling time and had very unseasonal high winds which caused the acorn to fall on the tin roof and made sleep time a bit trying. But it was a lovely venue and setting

“Best of the country life”
Reviewed March 23, 2016 for a stay in March 2016

My husband wanted to get a break from the rat race and asked that I book somewhere on a farm, at the same time the daddy's deals voucher came up for Mont Rouge and I immediately booked it.

We stayed in cottage 4 which is a 6 sleeper, however it was only my husband and I with our 2 toddler boys. Check in time is at 14:00 so we didn't rush to get done and ended up at the farm just before 14:00, when we picked up our key we were greeted by friendly Marisha who just took a fresh warm bread out of the oven for us. I could not thank her enough little did I know what's awaiting us at the cottage :-)

They had fresh fruit picked from the farm on the table with home made jam and fresh muffins, fresh 5L water and even 4 easter marshmallows in a little jar, the kids were excited cause we said aunty Marisha put it especially there for them.

Everything about the place makes you feel at home, I think the little touches of the sweet surprises makes it even more cosy, the nice leather couches which the kids fell asleep on at night made it even more perfect and all the cute scatter cushions in every room.

The cottage has an indoor braai area and an outside bond fire area with steps leading right to it from the cottage. It has a little stream flowing right next to the cottage with an outside shower that my 4 year old boy could not stop talking about.

The WiFi isn't that stable I would say, it loses signal every now and again but once it is connected it is quite fast. I suggest that when you braai inside to leave the windows and door open and have the fans on for the hours after your braai because the smell of braai stays in the cottage, that is normal I think and with a country side holiday it should be the least of your worries.

They have even bigger cottages catering for big families and a wedding venue on site. We never got to the dam probably cause we got lost on our way but we ended up discovering a big lawn with a park that the kids enjoyed.

This is a MUST see farm if you are in Tulbagh and want peace from the hustle and bustle. Marisha is the most amazing host and even text me the morning to apologise because she couldn't say bye when we dropped the key. My boy woke up this morning asking when we going back, that in itself should say a lot :-)
