Have the most beautiful views (surrounded by mountains) and the food is great. The rooms and service are also great. We enjoyed it very much and would love to go back. Their wines are also very good, especially the Pinotage. (only available on the farm to buy and in town)

Room Tip: In winter ask for a room with a fire place, because it really helps

My husband and I stayed at the lodge on Friday, 1 July on a crisp, clear night, with snow on the mountains around this pretty town about 1,5 hours from Cape Town. We were lucky enough to get Cottage no 1 with a huge 4-poster bed, fireplace in the bedroom + a wall heater + an electric, built-in fan heater!(The reason I'm harping on about this is because it gets really cold in Tulbagh in Winter, especially on a clear night!) We used all of them....

The cottages are newly built, comfortable with all mod cons, including a small kitchenette with fridge and microwave. Also great was the little veranda in front with a stunning view over the mountains, vineyards and the farm dam, right next to the cottage. Breakfast the next morning in the renovated restaurant was substantial x 2! We couldn't eat it all! Great coffee, friendly service, advice about all to do and see in and around town - and all of this at around R450 pp per night. 5 mins out of town. Not bad at all ... I would stay there any time again.

Room Tip: Cottages 1 & 2 sleep 4 and are great

My wife and I had been wine tasting in the region and stopped in to refresh ourselves. We needed a place to stay and were going to go on to Franschoek but after settling in to some food enquired about their offering. We got a room and breakfast for R450 per person which works out to $60 each (wierd your site says $251!). The place is lovely, very peaceful and relaxing, friendly staff, great wine, and lovely food especially when you compare it to Cape Grace Hotel on Cape Town's waterfront, where we stayed the night following which seems very poor value with Manley. I can't recommend this place highly enough if you want to chill out.
