“Best B&B”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2014

We were lucky enough to spend two nights at Villa Tarentaal for a mid-week break from Cape Town, we had such a lovely stay. The breakfast was absolutely divine, we had french toast and an omelette, it was one of the best breakfast's we've ever had!

It's an easy walk from the B&B to town and everyday we walked into town for lunch. The room was big and had a fireplace and spacious bathroom. It's definitely on our list to return for a longer stay.

Room Tip: Peacock suite has a bath, double shower and fireplace would definitely recommend as its a spacious r...

We spent 2 nights at Villa Tarentaal and wished we'd booked for longer. Graham was incredibly helpful from the time of making an inquiry to our departure. He assisted with restaurant bookings and made suggestions for places to go for great photo opportunities. He clearly understands the concept and importance of customer service.
Attention to detail is keen, staff are warm and friendly, and breakfasts, which are served either in the room, are memorable - unquestionably among the very best breakfasts I've had anywhere.
The room, including the bed, was very comfortable and everything you need is available.
Unquestionably one of the best BnB's I've stayed at. We stayed in Fish Eagle Cottage (which is self-catering) and were very happy with the accommodation.
Villa Tarentaal is situated just a short distance outside the village, so a car is advisable (you'll want one anyway to get around the valley), but it's also great to be a little away from the hubbub of the main street.

Room Tip: All rooms are good.

We've spent three nights here, and its been a delightful, peaceful stay, our hosts have been great, very helpful in suggesting days out, restaurants to visit, and the local things to do. Graham even had suggestions for fixing my camera which I managed to drop in the ocean. Tulbagh is small in size but big on friendliness, and there are plenty of restaurants close by to choose from. The views of the mountains from our breakfast table were amazing, and we probably have had the best breakfasts yet in our week and a half in South Africa. All in all its been idyllic.

Villa Tarentaal is exceptional on all levels - the rooms are luxurious, breakfast was outstanding and the location is perfect. Villa Tarentaal is close to town and on route to some of the other famous attractions but still far removed from every day noise. Absolute treat to have the massage therapist come to your suite!
Can absolutely recommend Villa Tarentaal and will definitely stay there again.

My wife and I was on a weekend biking trip and stopped for a night at Villa Tarentaal. Better place is hard to find if you want to relax, enjoy good company and have a bit of time off. Graham and Brandi make you really feel welcomed and home.
Not least the phenomenal breakfast is a treat, try the omelette! In case you have an urge to cook yourself, we had a fully equipped kitchenette as well.
A walk into town for dinner is a short disctance and pleasure after a good meal followed with a good book in front of the fireplace coming back "home"
Truly enjoyable for us. Thanks :)

What a gem! Service and attention to detail incredible.
Graham and Brandi friendly hosts with all the information you will need to know.
Very hands on service and it shows!
Our breakfasts were a treat and the garden and surrounds beautifully kept.
Wouldn't stay anywhere else if I went back to Tulbagh!

Room Tip: From what we saw all the rooms had their own charm.
