We are more than happy we have found this special place, maybe the loveliest place we have ever stayed in. The moment we arrived, we felt like being transported in another era, or better said, we felt that time and space have disappeared completely in this amazing oasis and we just wanted to rest there forever. Madame Marie was maybe a kind of princess in another lifetime and clearly has an eye for all delicate details, the rooms are just wonderfully decorated, so romantic, all those textiles and textures, the canopy beds, the lights and the books make you so glad to experience something worthy. Before we came back in the evening, she put flowers in our room and let some delicate lamps turned on, made us feel so comfortable. Breakfast was so amazing, served in such a sweet crockery among all those flowers. If you ever read fairy-tales and enjoyed them, you just have to experience this!

We returned this fall(a rarity for us) to this lovely getaway near St. Remy and Avignon. A central location for exploring southern Provence, the rooms are decorated in the french country style and are wonderful. Madame Chantal provides a sumptuous breakfast in the courtyard, with croissants, fresh fruit, local jams and I am happy just remembering the feast. Reasonably priced and centrally located a true taste of country french liveing.

We had been visiting France for a few years and chose to go again for our honeymoon. We travelled to Le Presbytere from Marseille Airport in a little over one hour, and were greeted by the most enchantingly friendly Marie Chantal who helped to make us feel instantly at home. The setting is very much typically french and simply gorgeous!!
We had the most relaxing three day stay, visiting Avignon easily and St Remy for an evening meal (lots of choice). Breakfasts were taken at our leisure in the little garden.
Marie Chantal takes great care of her guests and her beautiful Chambre d'Hote. Just perfect!!!

Le Presbytere exceeded my high expectations. It is a charming, welcoming, very special place to stay in Provence. Marie is a wonderful host, knowlegeable and eager to please. We were welcomed with an aperitif and baguettes with pate in the relaxing garden patio. The room (La Mucha) was romantic and spacious with a curtained bed, sitting area and well appointed bath, including tub. A lavender soap was supplied. This unique bed and breakfast is an 11th century presbytere and has many vestments, relics, and other historic items in it's main interior. A friendly dog lazed in the sun nearby. It was truly idyllic. It is a convenient locale to explore the many hillside towns of Provence, most less than 1/2 hour to 45 min drive in any direction.
