“ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT !!!”

IGNORE THE "PROFESSIONAL COMPLAINERS" We say,go with an open mind and enjoy the sun...

We're just back from 9 nights here and found the Hotel on the whole, perfectly adequate. When we arrived we were at first offered a ground floor room, unfortunately the sliding patio door did not lock, so we went back to reception and asked for an alternative. We were offered another room on the spot. Not to sound like a professional complainer myself, I felt that the view of room 2 was a bit disappointing. Again, I returned to reception and asked for a room with a nicer view, if possible, and offered to pay a supplement. This was not necessary as Birgit and the reservations manager handed me a 3rd room key and invited me to.. "have a look at this one..." Room 3 was fitted out exactly the same as the other 2 but had the added bonus of being on the rear, overlooking very quiet gardens and had a snippet of sea view - good enough for me!
I agree with the other reviewers in that this Hotel would most definitely benefit from a lick of paint and a program of modernisation. I think it's fair to say that given the economic situation in Greece currently that this is unlikely to happen anytime soon. So if you want modern accomodation try the Chandris Hotels, just over the road.

Dassia and Ipsos, the neighbouring resort were both pretty quiet but started to pick up towards the end of our holiday. Perhaps, we too, went too early in the Season. That said, we didn't want a rowdy break, we went for the peace and quiet and to unwind and relax. Mission accomplished for us then, as we both came home feeling refreshed, relaxed and re-energised!

Big compliments go to all of the staff at this hotel, each and every one of them, we felt, went out of their way to make us feel welcomed! In particular it has to be said we were especially well looked after by GIANIS (sorry if spelt incorrectly) who was the pool barman, extremely charming and polite. And of course the hotels fantastic Animation team TONI and TEOFANA, who we feel really made our stay with their range of activities. This by the way included Morning Stretching, table tennis, aqua gym, darts (which you must get involved with, this was a fantastic way to get to know some of the other guests at the hotel, including amongst other nationalites Lydia the Polish lady, Eryk the Dutch man, Christian, Lydias son etc to name a couple, lol) Not forgetting the lovely Les and Tony from Swindon:o) And the big group from Crewe who were great fun !

The restaurant facilities and the food we also found to be better than reviewed, we never failed to find a meal that was hot and tasty ! If I had to find a negative here it would be that I thought the restaurant manager could / should be a bit more "hands on" in my humble opinion. A couple of nights the staff looked a bit overstretched and i didnt see him doing a great deal to assist them!

All in all, we had a terrific time and would not hesitate in recommending and revisiting this hotel !

had a good holiday, the all inclusive just abit dissapointing, the rooms are clean and over all, a good time. when venturing out the hotel it just seems that you go left at the gates, and some good bars ect down there, but try going right...there is a really good bar, Drifters, run by an english couple and when they say " full english breakfast ", they mean it, proper sorted us out...thanks Madeleine and Kevin xx

Most of the staff are very good and the place is clean. the rooms could do with some money being spent on them to bring them into this age. do not go expecting to much and you will not be disappointed but also do not go looking for a bad holiday either. as to the food not the best i would say to the managment a bit more varity like more greek food on the menu. to unspecting travellers they do expect you (men) to dress for dinner in hotel Magna Graecia that means long trousers. would i recommed it NO would i go back for a week cannot rule it out.

We recently stayed at the Magna Graecia having booked a 4 star All inclusive package deal with Olympic Holidays (Corfu Supersavers) whereby we were allocated hotel on arrival.
First impressions of the hotel when coach entered steep driveway is that the hotel is scruffy looking and needs a good coat of paint. Everywhere you need to go within the hotel you have to go up or down steps or stairs.
Down a flight of stairs to the restaurant, down flight of stairs to the bar, down or up flights of stairs to get to hotel rooms.
To get to the terrace bar you have to go down a flight of steps and to get down to the pool you need to go down another flight of steps.
If you have mobility problems or on crutches steer clear of this hotel!!!
The hotel interior and all the bedrooms are fitted with pink striped marble which immediately dates the hotel. Chairs and fittings in the bedrooms are tubular steel and need replacing to rejuvenate the look of the rooms. The fridges are noisy to say the least. We thought the adjoining room had the tv on until we realised it was our own fridge making the noise. Needless to say it was unplugged and stayed unplugged all week.
The food in the dining room is repetitive and its usually a case of "can you guess what this is" as some trays were labelled and some were not. Food however was hot if you could find something you wanted to eat.
The hotel also needs to get some more bar staff in of an evening. The one sole bartender was working his socks off trying to cope with the All inclusive guests queuing for drinks in the evening.
The pool area needs more sun loungers and more parasols. More were put out towards the end of our stay but there still were not enough.
We have stayed in better 3 star hotels then this 4 star hotel. If you can avoid it, please do.
Would however state that it is kept clean and the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming.
Resort of Dassia was extremely quiet (last week of May). Tavernas were empty so you didn't feel inclined to go in and be the only customer.

To sum it up in a few words; 'take all of the worst reviews very seriously', ignore the good ones and cancel.
Dassia is not the problem - the hotel, grounds, food, drinks and rooms are.
How this hotel is still being promoted is beyond me.
DON'T GO!

Room Tip: Don't have a room on ground or first floor.

read all the reviews both good and bad before we went, naturally you want to believe the good one's and ignore the bad. wish i'd paid more attention to the bad one's. dont get me wrong i've stayed in worse but only just. the food was terrible, just about fit for human consumption, the rooms were poor with a lot of them having really awful views, although they are cleaned every day, (cant fault that). on the positive side, the drinks had not been tampered with as i'd read before somewhere. the pool was big and deep with loads of loungers, staff were great and freindly.........the most dissapointing thing about the holiday for me was dassia itself, advertises a livley heaving resort, this is not the case. i've stayed in 'quiet' resorts that have more life in them. and as for ipsos just down the road imagine tumbleweeds. maybe went too early in the season (last week of may). wont ever be going back though to check

Room Tip: could do better

This hotel does not deseve the few bad comments, just back and had the most relaxing time, the hotel staff were excellent, the food was very good and considering they had to cater for lots of nationalities we thought the food was great! the dinning room was wonderful and pool was lovely with lots of sun-loungers, the rooms may require updating but had everthing you require, bar staff were excellent, if you want a relaxing holiday and not a wild time this is the hotel for you!!!
