“great break”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 28, 2013

went back to see old friends in the telemachos,i think this is our seventh stay here,we met some people who were happy with the place and some who were not,the people who were happy just got on and had a great time , the people who were not happy sulked and looked for any excuse to moan, please go to blackpool next year you ll spend more money and get a dirty hotel but you ll love it because you can get your mcdonalds or your kfc, the hotel staff can t be faulted they work for little money and long hours, why do they do it, its because theres no work in corfu in the winter, derek theSCOTTISH chef is a lovely man who is polite and good at his job,if he can accomodate you with a meal he will, but when someone stands in front of you and shouts this is crap, then i don t think id be too happy either, there is a short hill to climb butnot as steep as some would have you believe, they must live in a city with no hills, ive killed all the wasps with my flip flop, and so you won t get stung this year, i will be going back to telemachos again in 2014 and i can t wait, its very relaxing untill the moaners start thanks to all the staff eferisto

Room Tip: pay for aircon you ll need it

Me and my friend stayed here in July for 7 nights, half board and thank god we only booked for one week and half board. I actually felt sorry for those people who were staying full board. Such a waste of money and such a lack of good customer service. Everyone was terrible, from the Irish chef who aregued with a client in front of everyone for an extra pice of chicken (and the client was staying full board) to the manager who kept trying to control everyone where they should sit. The food was absolutely grose - frozen food re-heated cheaper than Iceland - even that you ony had 4 options and 1 vegetarian option. The barman was a pervert, trying to hook up with every sigle female possible..Not to mention that their toilets are so rank, next day after we checked in, we had to go and buy bleach from a nearby shop and cleaned the bathroom ourself...what more can I say -> THE HOTEL FROM HELL!!

Just came back from a week at night and the pool area was always clean. Nick on the pool bar was a good laugh and always chatted to us even when we weren't getting drinks. The room was lovely towels and sheets were refreshed at least 3 times in the week we were there. The meals were well prepared by the chef Derek who always very friendly. The food was lovely and I was always offered more if I wanted it. Tables were cleared by two very polite men. Although there was not entertainment every night the people we met and the staff made every evening a good laugh and before you knew it was the early hours of the morning! Even though the all-inclusive drinks finished at 9.30pm the drinks were far from being expensive and for the price of the hotel for the week we drank and ate more then we paid. Overall we would like to say thank you to Yanni, Nonda, Dimitris, Nick, Derek and all the staff at Telemachos for a fantastic week full of relaxing and laughs! Thanks from Lee and Bec - We hope to see you next year!

My husband booked this as a last minute all inclusive deal, then i read the reviews! we dreaded the idea of going but thought hay ho we have booked it now and went with open minds which i am so glad we did. Yes the hotel appeared a little tired but not enough to put us off. we upgraded our room to the new building, the room was great, clean and tidy with a beautiful view of the pool and scenery. House keeping came in daily making the beds, linen and towels were changed more regular than i would at home.
The staff were fantastic, helpful and informative.
The food was lovely.... basic choices but good honest grub! We never went hungry.Derek the chef was the highlight of the holiday.....always cheerful and ready for a joke and a good old chat.
The pool area was nice as was the outside bar, staffed again by a lovely barman.
The entertainment was so awful it was brilliant! we did have a good giggle.

We went right in the last week of the season and everything was closing down,Dassia town was like a one horse town and the horse had been shot but we ventured out on the bus which for 2 euros was great to Corfu town. This is a must its a mixture of old and new, loads of lovely shops, cafes and restaurants.

The worst thing about this holiday was the moaning!
the `hill` is an incline, no the hotel should not provide a taxi service twice a day for you to be taken up and down!
The hotel should not come out and spray wasps because they are bothering you!
the hotel cannot demand the sunshines on your balcony!
Stop moaning about the food then eat two plates!
These were just a few complaints it went on all day, its a shame they didnt think about their own behaviour! being woken in the middle of the night by screaming brits having a fight was not great.
We paid for a cheap holiday and got more than we thought we would.
A thoroughly lovely, relaxing week away, will definetly go back next year and on Dereks advice may even drive down.
Many Thanks,
Trevor and Diana.

Room Tip: Go with an open mind, Make sure you go to Corfu town on the bus.

We were offered a week at the Telemachos Hotel in Dassia because the original accommodation we had booked was closing early for the winter. On reading the reviews we almost didn't go there, although decided to continue with the booking, we were going bed and breakfast but were offered half board at the Telemachos. I really do wonder about the comments some people have left, we have travelled extensively in Greece mainland and islands during the last 37 years, we accept that accommodation in Greece is more basic and the people laid back something we love about the country. We understand that most of the complaints being made appear to be in relation the all inclusive option and drinks finishing at 0930 something that didn't impact in our stay. The breakfast was very good more than we have been offered usually for this level of accommodation and included cereals, fresh bread, yoghurt, butter, honey, eggs, sausage and bacon. We were not really bothered about the evening meal because it was an extra to our original booking although on eating the hotel restaurant on the first evening were pleasantly surprised, and did eat most evenings in the hotel and had lunch out eat day. Evening meal consisted or crisp fresh salad, bread and yes there are chips because this is what some people want, there was also brown rice, pasta and the meat options included pork, lamb, moussaka, fish and goulash with beef. There was also a light dessert melon, a few grapes or jelly. The staff were extremely polite, helpful and the manager couldn't do enough to assist. In relation to the location and on reading other reviews I did wonder if we would need a rope and crampons to get up and down the hill! Absolutely not the hill is nothing to worry about if you have an average fitness level a short incline, a little flat and then another brief incline. I can't comment I the swimming pool because we spent our days either on the beach at Dassia or sightseeing. The room was cleaned each day, beds made and bins emptied, towels and sheets were changed once during the week. The hotel is a little tired looking in areas and maybe could do with a refurbish however I would imagine with the financial problems Greece has been suffering this is probably not an option I the near future. Our room was months top floor tops the old building and we did pay extra for air con, we didn't object to this energy is expensive now! The view from our room was stunning and we saw some lovely sunsets. The entertainment was quite good and we enjoyed the karaoke and Gilbert on two evenings this was obviously amateur although just a bit of fun! The bar staff very friendly drinks reasonably priced cocktails were lovely there we're specials at 3 euros, the barman did warn that one cocktail was quite strong. To sum up remember you do get what you pay for and we consider that this hotel provides very good value for money.
