We stopped here on a cruise. The village is quaint. We took a half day tour to the Kjenndalen Glacier, Lovatnet Lake, and stopped to look st charming wood cabins for the framers when their cattle are in the mountains. We had delicious waffles at Kjenndalstova.
The trip from the port to Kjenndalen Glacier was beautiful. We mad multiple stops along the way to take photos. The glacier itself is not very impressive from the viewpoint in the valley. We then took a cruise on Lovatnet Lake which was gorgeous. The scenery with changing light created by clouds and the sun was just beautiful. Finally, we ended up back at port where the Lysefjord became a mirror of the surrounding mountains, sky, and farmhouses dotting the landscape. I have never been to a more breathtaking port!
