Roger, a retired dental surgeon, who played rugby scrum half at Methodist College, Belfast, Ireland's top school, followed by Queens University Belfast, then 26 times for Ireland and went on two British and Irish Lions tours to South Africa, Australia and New Zealand, runs a superb B&B with his wife Jenny, who played competitive ladies hockey at the highest level. Their fitness keeps them both looking deceptively young and also young in spirit!
The rooms are tastefully decorated with superb views over the lagoon. Undercover, secure parking keeps the cars cool and safe. Breakfast is served in an elegant, airy dining room. Beware of the pepper mill disguised as a bottle of Merlot! The visitors book reads like a Who's Who of world rugby and Irish medicine. He does have a array of international flags and flies your national flag to signal your arrival! This place is a must for everyone visiting the West Coast, one of South Africa's greatest secrets.

Room Tip: Book early if you want any room!

Having read the previous reviews we were expecting a top quality B&B and were certainly not disappointed. Our room - The Sandpipier Room - was very spacious & spotlessly clean. All the fittings & furnishings were excellent & the bathroom had a magnificent roll-top bath, much enjoyed by my wife. The view would have been outstanding, over the lagoon, but the weather did not oblige on this occasion. The breakfast was most enjoyable and Jennifer & Roger were charming hosts. Definitely one which we would recommend when staying in this area of the Cape.

My partner and I spent our last 3 nights in South Africa and we weren't dissapointed. At first we were a bit apprehensive about staying in Langebaan, as we had been looking to stay in Paternoster but we definently made the right choice by staying here. Roger was a brilliant host, very attentive and gave you lots of information of where to go and places to eat.
The rooms were large & modern & they all looked onto the swimming pool. We stayed in the Kingfisher suite.
Breakfasts were served upstairs which gave you fantastic views of the lagoon.
Langebaan has a very relaxed feel about it, just what we needed for the end of our holiday, it also has fantastic places to eat, one such place is 'Lekker By Die Sea' - a must, the Hake & chips are amazing, the best we've tasted.
We will be back. Thanks Roger for making our stay an enjoyable one.

We stayed at Emerald View for the first time this year, it's our 3rd time in Langebaan. The guest house is immaculately clean, well equiped and our hosts Roger & Jennifer were attentive and friendly. The views from the rooms and terraces are well named as the sea is emerald green but it could be that Roger & Jennifer are Irish. The breakfasts are sumptuous and the rooms very comfortable - we will be back. Loved the 3 legged Staffordshire Holly reminded us of our dog.

Room Tip: All rooms seemed to be very similar so can't say which is best. All good

We stayed 3 nights at Emerald view and what a wonderful place to sit back, relax and enjoy those fantastic views. Jennifer and Roger are brilliant hosts with Roger coming out to rescue us when we were lost in Langebaan!!. The Guesthouse is spotlessly clean and rooms were of a high standard. The breakfasts were excellent served in a bright dining space with huge picture window so you can continue to enjoy the views. They also offer breakfast outside if you prefer. The property is located at the top of a steep hill but has wheel chair access inside. It was the perfect place to get some R and R before moving to the hustle and bustle of Cape town and our only regret is we were only there 3 nights could have stayed much longer.
