We've tried lots of other places for a good Sunday lunch since moving to Chesham in 2012 but consistently return to the Black Cat as the food, service and ambience are so great. It's only a small pub and on Sunday's you have to book - by keeping it small it means that the food is cooked to order and tastes exactly as if you made it at home. Probably better in my case! They are justifiably proud of the fact they make their own gravy there. We've booked their private room for bigger parties and had an amazing meal and fabulous service. They are very pet friendly and child friendly too - the half portions for kids are huge!

I hear they serve great breakfasts and pies so will be back to try those.

Originally went out for a few drinks with a group of friends, to then move on elsewhere after an hour or two. But because we felt so welcome and the locals and staff were friendly we stayed for the whole evening.

I noticed they were serving food (pub grub) so we ended up staying for a meal. The food was great and definitely good value for money,

I was also impressed with the choice of real ales they had on offer. I also noticed they have been awarded the cask marque award.

Overall a great night which was enjoyed by all.

Will definitely return.

This quaint pub is nessled just outside Chesham, the first thing you'll notice about this pub is the decor, it's tasteful art-deco/traditional and the owners ensure the place certainly lives up it's name with references to black cats absolutely everywhere.

The locals were very friendly, the place was very clean, food was superb, staff were very friendly and accomodating (especially the young barman) and even picked up some free range eggs from the local farm. Will certainly make an effort to visit again.
