I used this facility to host my 50th birthday celebration. The allocated area was perfect and the bar area being situated close to the room was a real bonus. This ensured that everyone remained in the vicinity of the action. The staff were very good and service was swift at the bar.
I ordered canapés and these were served to the guests. The canapés were very good. The only negative comment was that the remaining canapés were placed at the back of room. It would have been better to have parked them in the bar area. This would have avoided the waste.
I used the associated DJ (Apex Sounds) who were very good and played all the requested music.

This hotel came up on a fabulous Groupon offer for an overnight stay plus dinner. Both of us needed a night away for a change of scenery and having visited Chesham before we knew this area was peaceful. The hotel/conference centre is only 5 minutes outside of the town and we found it without much of a problem. We were welcomed by a friendly face and check in was quick and painless. Our room turned out to be in the newer section, was clean, well laid out and had a power shower. We were able to access the free wifi easily and all the staff were very helpful. We took a walk around the extensive gardens and viewed local wildlife. The inclusive evening meal was served efficiently and was well cooked and well presented. Breakfast was an add on but not expensive as we added at booking. Al in all we had a lovely peaceful break which was well needed. Thank you to all who made this possible.

I must admit we didn't check Tripadvisor before booking this venue for my daughter's wedding. Having no read some of them, I'm very surprised at some of the negativity. During the wedding the staff were absolutely excellent, friendly and efficient. The food was very good and the overall arrangements made by the management and MC were first class.
A number of the guests were staying overnight as we did ourselves. All found the rooms clean and tidy with a substantial breakfast in the morning. The room we were in was in the older part of the building, and was perhaps a little tired, but the size of the room was excellent as was the bathroom.
Maybe I'm looking through rose-coloured glasses as we had such an excellent day and evening but surely that's what this type of occasion is about. Well done Chartridge

We needed a place to stay in the Chesham area for a couple of nights in late November and was astounded at the extortionate prices being asked by local pubs and hotels for bed & breakfast. We came across the Chartridge Conference Centre and was pleasantly surprised if not suspicious at how reasonable their rates were. We were given a room with a balcony off the bedroom with views over the immaculately kept grounds. The comments we read on trip advisor prior to booking were not that complimentary which gave us doubts about going ahead. I can say that we were given the very best service and all the staff were professional, knowledgeable and really friendly. Yes this an old country house and therefore has the odd quirk or leaky tap but on the whole is a hidden gem. We will be returning to the area several times in the future and will look no further than the Chartridge.

Room Tip: We had what we think was the best room but I will not say which one as everyone will ask for it.

Finally found the place, sat nav doesn't like it as a few other reviewers have said.

Check in was fine. We didn't have breakfast in our rate and ate elsewhere.

We were given room 45 and our first impression was that it was very dated, but clean and comfortable. The comfortable bit was later challenged. Issues with the room

- TV is at the side of the bed instead of in front so difficult to watch without twisting your neck
- shower cubicle was smallest I have ever seen. I am a medium sized woman and didn't have enough room to tip my head back to wash my hair, and couldn't lift my arms to wash properly. Anyone any bigger would physically struggle to use it at all and as there's no bath, there's no alternative.
- the windows were painted shut so couldn't open - must be a nightmare in summer as it was stuffy in December
- the bed was very low to the floor and the mattress was so saggy we both ended up crammed together in the 'V' of the sag. Ridiculous.
- the website states "wifi throughout the hotel". This is not true, the receptionist told us (accurately) that we wouldn't get it in our room. Nor could we get mobile phone signals. Don't advertise it if you know you don't offer it.
- housekeeping was hit and miss - for example the used cups in our rooms were not replaced

there was a wedding on our second night there and obviously there was a lot of noise as a result. I think we were above the reception room, which seems odd to put people not at the wedding so close, but i might have got it wrong. I also think they should have told us there was a wedding on while we were there so we could have decided whether we wanted to put up with inevitable noise and disruption.

You get the impression they have never tried out their own facilities. Yes, it's "cheap" for a hotel (circa £50/night), but Premier Inns in the area are usually cheaper and would provide a better room and better night's sleep. I wouldn't stay again.

Room Tip: Room 40 was right on the end of the corridor under a flight of stairs - must be horrendously noisy

Stayed here for my best friend's wedding (which Chartridge did a fantastic job with - thank you for making their day so very special) and had a fantastic time.
We stayed in the newer part of the hotel (room 89) and thought it was a great room! The room was enormous, bed comfy and the shower powerful - what more could you want?
If we had any criticism, it would be that the bar served very few beer options on tap.
Also, it was a little cheeky that the 'special' rate for the wedding was actually the standard price of the room and that it was cheaper to book it via the Chartridge website.
These are minor things but they might irritate others...
We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Even numbered rooms appeared to have the better view over the gardens. Ours was a view of the car p...

Stayed here whilst on business for 1 night room only at a very reasonable price of 44.00. Set in its own grounds just outside of Amersham the room was spotless and had tea and coffee, free wifi (not the greatest of signals in room34, but adequate).
Check in was a breeze and the reception staff were very smart and professional.
