Had dinner here for the first time with friends on a Saturday evening, following a recommendation. We had booked through the week and on arrival as expected the place was buzzing. The restaurant has a basic decor, is full of chatter and almost a little airless, but we were quickly shown to our table and settled into the relaxed vibe. The service was friendly and food did not disappoint, is definitely value for money. We took a bottle of wine with us (restaurant is BYO) and had Sushi, dumplings and edamame beans to start. Then each had a main, which were generous with sides of rice. An enjoyable evening, we will be back for an easy evening meal.

Lucky we booked! Kyushu was packed when we got there a few minutes late for our booking. It’s BYO - we bought a bottle from nearby Liquorland.
Our party of 4 chose a variety of favourites to share: prawn dumplings, vegetable spring rolls, pork BBQ, salmon/kingfish sashimi and mixed tempura. All were delicious with the favourites being the pork, dumplings and sashimi.
Service was friendly, and efficient. Price for the food was amazingly inexpensive. I would thoroughly recommend Kyushu.

Our friends and family all love Kyushu. Our favourite picks are the teriyaki chicken and the pork maki. Make sure you book beforehand as its always busy.

The food is still good even after 15 years. Went this week as nostalgia for years past when I lived in the neighborhood. You just know what you’re going to get at Kyushu. My only reason for 4 versus 5 is the atmosphere has gotten a bit chaotic. The tables and floors are trashed because everyone who brought kids let them toss everything on the floor. Because of the tight seating it looks a bit messy. The server cleaned our table nicely and service was fast but mess was still visible around us. I blame the people with kids who can’t behave as much as the restaurant. I don’t let my kids sit on the floor or run around when I take them out. Some of these families need to check themselves...
