This restaurant is tucked away in a rather unexpected spot for such a well deservedly popular restaurant. The kitchen is on the ground floor, people can come in and order a take- away fish meal . Upstairs is the dining area .
It is a must to reserve a table as it is obvious that locals are very well aware they have a great fish restaurant on their doorstep. It is an easy walk down from Military Road barely two minutes from Neutral Bay's various bus stops from all directions. Do not expect a view but do expect friendly service .

Some of the finest seafood in Sydney can be found in an obscure restaurant in Neutral Bay, just 10 minutes from the city. Fine Fish certainly lives up to its name. The company supplies Sydney's leading restaurants with seafood, but you can enjoy the same seafood at this local eatery for a reasonable price. Oysters are shucked on site and are among the best you will taste. Prawns from Yamba ( if available) are a must. The menu includes Atlantic salmon from Tasmania, King salmon from New Zealand, the Australian favourite Barramundi from Western Australia, delicious Sand Whiting from South Australia and OceanTrout from Tasmania. The daily menu also includes Yellowfin tuna, scallops and baby octopus. Main courses come with a selection of sauces and sides. The restaurant is hidden away in a car park behind the main thoroughfare. But it is well worth making a visit to this local haunt. There is always a queue for takeaways and there are a few outdoor tables in addition to the restaurant upstairs.

For a good choice of fresh fish at prices that are not outrageous, Fine Fish is a very good restaurant to visit.
We have been there twice in as many months and were most satisfied on both occasions.
Whether it is Blue-eyed Cod, John Dory, Tuna, or Atlantic Salmon you prefer we found that all the fish was fresh and cooked well. The side chips and vegetables are also better than average.
Try some of their wines. We ordered a number of different reds (local and imported) by the glass ($9 or $10) - Montepulciano, Corte Giara and Crossroads Merlot. We love Italian wines and were pleased to see that some good imported reds were available.
The desserts were average but those that ordered the Affogato raved about them. On each occasion there were four of us and the bill set us back around $150, that is around $35 each for a glass of wine, a main and a dessert. Good value!
Parking is relatively easy as the restaurant is close to the Woolworths car park.

Probably best quality seafood outside of the fish markets - always fresh and always good; and love the seafood chowder. Often buy the salmon or whiting and always enjoy them. Perhaps a little expensive but convenience without going to the city must have a value.

Hands down the best fish restaurant in Sydney. While the location may not be great (in a Woolies car park) and decor not to everyone's tastes the food is consistently brilliant.
